Gerard isn't wrong when he says Bontempelli is one of the reasons we are still chance this season. The Bont can sway the outcome of a game than any bulldog player I've seen. It's the little moments he wins in games that accumulate until we are over the line. I don't think it's a coincidence that we nearly always win close games since the Bont came along.They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

I was on record of wanting Billings and probably up until the end of 2015 I would have been stubbornly defending my choice.......but the jig's up, I was wrong.
Ironically Billings is by far and away - apart from Kelly or Lever - my most desired player for recruitment across the league.
The Bont has been a funny player for me this year. His talent came out in spades early, when he was down he portrayed some really selfish traits with the ball from time to time, and now he's mostly unreliable in front of goal while still being a massive force in score involvements. My personal view is we're actually seeing the back end of a lull in performance that is maturity or experience driven, and his talent has curtailed its affect.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

I've been wondering about this. Do we want Kelly and Lever because we need them as players or because we've been linked to them for a while now and the idea that we want them and they are the best players suited to us has sort of crept in by osmosis?
My view is we need a player like Kelly but we have Lever's position covered. Lever is probably a better defender right now than the guys we have to cover him but we have the chance to put in a CHB and FB who will play those positions for us for the next decade and we can play Adams as the third tall. Cordy, Adams, Young with depth from Collins and Roberts should be enough tall defenders surely?
But I dream at night of a midfield with Bont and Kelly in it. Kelly is a jet. If he is available then we should throw the farm at him.They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

If we get Lever, there's a good chance that Adams plays forward.
I'd be a fan of this and it gives us flexibility, because Adams can certainly play as a key back. The biggest issue he has is durability.
HFF: Stringer - Adams - McLean
FF: Dickson - Boyd - Dahlhaus/Picken
With Bont, Dunkley and others rotating through there it looks very well balanced and dangerous.
I like Adams as a defender and won't be disappointed to see him remain there but he could be a very strong forward.W00F!Comment

That's what it is that He does.. I've been trying to think of the right analogy since I first saw him play. He does move like liquid, you're dead right.

Nice work, thats a great image for his opponents. Neo dodging bullets comes to mind as well.
But yeah, how else to describe it, he isnt quick, he looks dead slow, but he flows through the game and then the game becomes liquid, everything slows and becomes smoother.
Except his set shot kicking this year has been perverse and diabolical. Its like getting a magnificent steak from the butcher and someone over cooks it.Comment
