I wish I was around to watch guys like Dougie Hawkins and Kelvin Templeton play. Kelvin's 13 goals in 1978 at Western Oval would have been great to watch. EJ another who many of our older woofers who watched him play described him as an absolute champion.
Easty, Templeton kicked 15 goals in a game against the Saints. Now I'll be the first to say a couple of the marking efforts in the last quarter rampage didn't quite deserve to be given but it was one of a number of standout games he played.

I'm not sure I can compare Bontempelli to Whitten, Templeton and a few others be he is a unique player who deserves to mentioned in the same breath as some of those guy but we need to see a bigger sample of what he can do.

If it was $10m for 5 years or he walks, I reckon I'd pay it
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Bont still hasn't played 100 games yet so still a lot ahead in his career but he has been excellent in his 85 games.

Wow only 85 games. The only player I can recall that I have enjoyed watching their first 100 games as much as the Bont's 85 is Chris Grant. Grant was making fools of seasoned gorilla full backs as a 17/18 year old. The Bont has been just as breath taking as Grant, but unlike Grant the Bont is already a premiership player. However Grant played 300+ games with only a handful of ordinary games amongst them. A genuine Champion.
Now if the Bont can play another 200 games of the quality he has already shown in his first 85, they must all be with us so pay him what ever he wants.
They've done studies you know, 60% of the time, it works every time!

KT had 25 kicks at full forward that day.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Promising signs with him being open the a new contract early in the piece.

Hope we can sign him up quickly and then focus our attention on the balance of the list with a clear understanding of what TPP less Bont looks like.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

One positive is the bloke who clearly had a problem with other players making more than him has been given the ****, so a big payday for Bont is unlikely to ruffle the playing group's feathers.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

He does things in a way that no other player in my time watching the game can do. I believe we'll have a statue of him at some point. At his best, there are few players with his poise, vision and ability to win the ball to greatest effect. Good character. He'll pretty much get what he asks for.
