Apples and oranges. Suspending players because they break YOUR OWN team rules is one thing, failing to defend them from all and sundry is another thing altogether. Supporters love it when their club takes a strong stance on a player who breaks team rules. Not so much when they are tried, hung and quartered by every half-wit who lives within five metres an AFL sanctioned microphone and you just meekly agree.

You think Eddie would have suspended Wellingham because of a complaint from Will Minson or Liam Picken? Dreaming.

We agree to disagree. No doubt what this forum is all about. I are others are pleased that the Club has acted as they have. You and others are not. End of discussion for me. I'd rather look ahead to next week's game.

I didn't think the club was actually handling it too piss-weakly until I saw the masterclass Geelong is putting on to cover for Jesse Stringer at the moment.

How that is in the back of the sports section and Will is plastered everywhere is beyond me.

They just barred him for the rest of the season!!!!

I agree. This is ridiculous. You'd hear worse on a Friday night out on the lash. Complete storm in a teacup and Danial Pearce needs to grow a thicker skin, or perhaps a quicker wit so that his riposte could have been equally as cutting.

Has Australian society degenerated into a culture of dobbing and looking to some higher authority to fight your battles? Shame if that is so. Racism and violent acts aside what happens on the field stays on the field.

Tonight, Cassisi reckons the worst things he has ever heard come out of a player's mouth in ten years of footy are the two sledges courtesy of Will Minson. Not a great endorsement. IMO, foolishness. No game is worth winning if that's what you feel you have to say to other players ( if the R word was used )

I took a group including ten rather voluptuous South American girls at the footy who selected Will as their ' Alpha male' They were all chanting' 27! we love you'. Maybe it went to his head.

Yeah and Cassisi has world wide experience in hearing everything that comes out of every payer's mouths all the time. Its a load of crock. no one is saying it was a nice thing to say, but FFS if you handle someone insulting you need to go play chess.

Yet the glorious Adelaide media chose to edit out where rocket said he was a good bloke. The whole Cornes reaction sickens me. It's a sign of a weak argument when you have to bring up something from 4 years ago. Serial? When is twice in a ten year career serial?

Across all sports, from teenagers to masters, sledging with a reference to your mum has been a part of life for centuries. It simply stays on the field. Weak as p...water.

I would have preferred the club to stand by Will but perhaps it was time for a ruck rotation anyway.

I have loved Wills endeavor and intensity, I hope he doesn't take too much of a back step after this.

More importantly, sledging has been a means of getting on top of you opponent. Getting under their skin to make them take their eye off the ball. Its a tactic which is as much part of the game as marking and kicking. I'd gladly have 22 guys suspended for a week if it won us a grand final - I wouldn't care how good someone's mum was in bed!

Like most people have commented, something from the club to put it in perspective would have been appreciated. Serial......are they series. How about Pearce being a serial dobber or a serial shirker of a contest.

You mean other than in response to her personal attack on Will in relation to an issue that she had no involvement in?

Articulate? I guess we have different opinions on what articulate is. Speaking in text is the definition of unsophisitcated and inarticulate in my view.

As for her "amazing family", it's a good thing she married into that "amazing famliy" otherwise no one would hear her social media screams for attention.

I would rate her views on the world on a similar level to Hayley Bracken and Simone Warne.

Not exclusively, but her behaviour this week has been underwhelming.

I suppose she hasn't had a public slanging match with another player's wife over who has the more famous friends, so she has the moral high ground in Adelaide.

I'm not going to personally attack Lucy Cornes however, I find it pretty ordinary that she has openly attacked Will after receiving second hand and no doubt biased information about what he said on the weekend. Her self indulgent rantings since haven't painted her in a very good light either, and I get the feeling she thinks this issue is more about her than it is about Pearce and his family. How does she think Will's mother and father feel right now? She is doing the same thing to them, that she has had done to her! That's what's so laughable and stupid about her efforts this week.

While she may have an axe to grind with Will, she must know that her own husband has made more than one disparaging and unnacceptable remark about members of Will's family. If she wants any sympathy for what occurred four years ago for her and her son, or any credibility given to her current ramblings she should openly acknowledge that all offensive comments are unnacceptable, and that she and members of her extended family have let themselves down in this area as well.

I can't see her doing that though, and that's why she is leaving herself open to attack.
