I played with Steve in our school team. He was off the richter scale.

I played against him in the Herald Shield competition. 81 or 82.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He'd have been a genuinely scary prospect to play against as a kid.

Even the players I played with who didn't quite make it were off the charts good.

So with him being invited to draft camp, that means he got at least 8 clubs to nominate him in their top 50 prospects.

Are we thinking that he will be similar to Z Cordy, and not get a bid? Would we go higher than a third rounder? Where's he expected to land?

              Re: Darcy McPherson

I was just wondering, if a father son prospect was given a guarantee that the club was going to take him. Could he just refuse to go and be interviewed by other clubs or go to the interview and say don't waste your time I don't want to play for you.
Then wouldn't that put the other clubs off and we can then just pick them up with the last pick. Or is this going to get the club in trouble.
If I was in that situation and I knew that the club wanted me I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
A bit like a company has got somebody in mind for a position and maybe that person has been filling in the role when it became available and they are dong a great job. But the company has to go through the interview process to be fair and square and then hire the one they where going hire in the first place thus wasting everyone else's time.
A father son should be able to go to their fathers club if they want to and it shouldn't cost a first round pick just because the opposition wants you to use it.
              Don't piss off old people

Can't remember the name if the School but it was a catholic school in Braybrook that the club parked all the young kids they recruited from interstate at. The MacPhersons, Mark Noble, magic Maclean (I think) and a few others.

They were scary good. In one game against them I picked the ball up and went to handball to the captain standing all by himself in the goal square, he screamed "NO!" And ran in the other direction. We kicked 3 points to twenty something goals that day.

Chisholm College. Known just as St Johns at that point, i think - prior to merger with the girls college up the road to form Chisholm. Also Tony Dodemaide's school. Think he might've been in that footy team you played against.

I played underage cricket against Dodders and would have remembered him. I gave him a nice little send off after they had spent most of the week telling us how many runs he was going to make on Saturday and then had to go out and bat against him the same day. Luckiest duck I ever made.

Super talks about this in his interview with The Coon Dog here: http://www.woof.net.au/forum/showthr...hen-MacPherson

I initially attended Footscray City Secondary College (Geoff Jennings was a teacher there), but only lasted a few weeks before finding myself at Chisolm College.

We had a good footy team too. That year I played with Tony Dodemaide (Australian cricketer) & Gary Walpole (12 games for Footscray). We won the Herald Shield that year out at Waverley.

yep. Herald Shield. Chisholm College 81/82.

He was &%$#$% unbelievable at that level.
There was almost no point in the other team turning up.
We WON the Herald shield with Super. Yes, we beat them all, all the big footy schools. Parade, De La Salle, Xavier etc, and finally. Assumption.

We had Gary Walpole as well who was great but Super was incredible.

Correct, probably a few Chisholm boys and girls on here I reckon, hiding under the cloak of anonymity!
And yep, I played in the footy team.

We won in 1981, beating Mazenod in the final and Assumption the week before.
                              We had a great team.
