Buku sharing ruck duties this qtr with Smith who has given away a couple of silly frees in the game including one that has led to BHs 4th goal. 23 mins gone and Dogs 5.5 to 4.7

3QT Dogs 5.5 to 4.7. Hynes looked a bit lost on the ball - been mainly training as a fwd, whereas L Kennedy looked a bit more at home although not dominant by any means. Didn’t have a bad 3rd qtr however.

Baker just undid all his good work in the game to give up an easy goal to BH who now lead 6.8 to 6.6 after 12 mins. Dale has also uncharacteristically scuffed 3 kicks in the game. While writing this Dogs have goaled and are back in front

Some quick end of game notes...
Buss - did ok - was the leading key defender for the Dogs on the day
Hynes - had a little cameo in the second qtr but was generally 'outmuscled' by the bigger bodied BH defence. He was run thru the midfield from halfway thru the third qtr until the end of the game. Will be better for the run.
Baker - thought he was the best of the AFL listed Dogs. Played across the full back line. Clearly likes the field in front of him.
Buku - bit of a mixed bag given he played defence, then foward and helped out in the ruck. Not as aerially dominant as I thought he might be. Likely happy to put that game behind him.
Dale - with all the recent injuries to key players, just happy to see him get thru the game unscathed. Got plenty of the ball and suspect he is ok for Rd 1
L Kennedy - played midfield and took a while I thought to get into the rhythm of the game. Probably had a better second half. Still a way to go.
Smith -tried hard but was up against some big opponents including Ramsden who played yesterday. Gave away a number of free kicks trying hard to get the better of much bigger opposition. I did like the use of his strength when up against the more spindly BH ruckman
Gardner - a bit like Buku - thrown around a bit today - almost reminiscent of his time in the VFL in 2024 (ie spare parts man...). Like Buku, Gardy would be happy to put that game behind him

Good hit out. Feel our back up's are a little thin.

The backups are already playing in the seniors.

We had 24 play the previous day and have about 10 players on the injured list, which includes at least 6 x best 18 so I’m not sure what you expect?
