Gardy a bit of an unsung hero ended up with 12 marks and some good defensive pressure (and yes a couple of wobbly kicks), second only to Coff with 13 marks.

Thanks for the comments Smads. Gardner held us together in the last but you do worry when he has to kick it. Could Arty be a late bloomer one of those guys takes a few years for it all to come together. Very good come back by the team now onto the VFLW.Don't piss off old people
The older we get the less "LIFE IN PRISON" is a deterrent...Comment

Forgot the game was one but wrapped to see Arty get 25 touches. Exactly what he needs to be doing, getting involved.
Kennedy's game looks huge too. Sounds like just a good all-around mid that might potentially be able to transition to a few different roles at AFL level if there's not spot in the middle.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Comment

How good was Luke Kennedy? The kid is just amazing.
He stepped up when it was needed and dragged us back into that game.
Do you know what though? This is not surprising. He was often the unsung hero when playing for the dragons.
He may be a tad slow but damn can kick both feet and knows where to run to.More of an In Bruges guy?👍 5Comment

Nice flight back from the doggies , looked how far Casey after they over ran Footscray to lead by 20 odd points early in that 2nd quarter , but some late goals in that 2nd quarter brought the dogs back into striking distance , then we saw Footscray kick 7 unanswered goals to take a commanding lead , Casey to their crdit fought back late in the last quarter , but a late goal from Billy Crofts saw Footscray run out comfortable winners by 18 points . The back line was held together beautifully by Coffield , Gardner and Duryea Gardner in particular had a great day taking 12 marks and had 24 disposals , he wasnt alone with Coffield taking 13 marks and having 23 disposals , Duryea had a game high 32 disposals and 8 marks , Jaques chiped in with 15 disposals and 6 marks , Luke Kennedy was arguably BOG , with 29 disposals and 3 goals , i think his best display this year. Anthony Scott got plenty of the ball with 30 disposals , his best game to date this year . Arty Jones played a solid game attacking the ball with ferocity and pace for one of the better games iv seen him play this year , picking up 25 disposals , which is a big number for Arty. Lachlan Smith continues to impress , his getting better with every game he plays , today he got 39 hitouts and kicked a goal against a seasoned campaigner in Tom Cambell , the only thing his lacking right now to be a dominant ruckman in the VFL , is his marking around the ground , today in perfect conditions he only took 1 mark , so if he can slowly accumulate more marks each game he really has a future in the game , of the other AFL listed players Cooper Hynes was quiet only picking up 6 disposals , and didnt bother the scorer much with only 1 points to his credit , Josh Dolan ran well to make postion but wasnt always used and finished the day with 11 disposals and didnt bother the scorer at all . Footscray played well considering they had only 10 AFL listed players with both Busslinger and Baker travelling with the senior side . Chan Hagraves did well kicking 4 goals , Billy Crofts ran hard all day and kicked 2 goals along with his 15 disposals . Footscray now with 4 wins travel to Williamstown next week .👍 13Comment

I liked Gardiner and arty’s games. Dureya and coffield weren’t as polished by foot as I expected, but attacked ball well. Thought Scott had a very good first half. Smith tried very hard in ruck.Comment

Footscray Power Past Casey
The Dogs flew home happy after a strong 18-point win over Casey, finishing the game full of run and confidence.
Casey came out firing, jumping to a 20+ point lead early in the second quarter. But the Bulldogs clawed their way back with some crucial late goals before halftime, cutting the margin to just a few kicks. The third quarter was one-way traffic — Footscray piled on seven unanswered goals to take a commanding lead. Casey rallied late in the final term, but a composed finish from Billy Crofts shut the door.
Defensive Wall
The backline was rock solid. Gardner was a standout with 12 marks and 24 disposals, dominating the air. Coffield was equally effective with 13 marks and 23 touches, reading the play beautifully. Duryea was everywhere — he led all players with 32 disposals and added 8 marks. Jaques provided strong support with 15 disposals and 6 marks of his own.
Midfield Engine
Luke Kennedy was arguably best on ground. He racked up 29 disposals and kicked 3 goals in a powerful, all-round display — his best outing of the year so far. Anthony Scott was everywhere with 30 touches and looked sharp all day. Arty Jones played with real intent and pace, finishing with 25 disposals in what might be his most complete game yet.
Big Man Watch
Lachlan Smith continues to develop into a serious ruck prospect. He dominated the hitouts with 39 against veteran Tom Campbell and even drifted forward to kick a goal. The next step? Improving his marking around the ground — just one grab today despite perfect conditions.
AFL-Listed Check-In
Cooper Hynes had a quiet one, managing just 6 disposals and a single behind. Josh Dolan worked hard to find space, often unrewarded, and ended with 11 touches.
Up Forward
Chan Hagraves made the most of his chances, finishing with 4 goals in a sharp performance. Billy Crofts ran hard all day and was rewarded with 2 goals and 15 disposals, including the sealer.
Looking Ahead
With four wins on the board and only 10 AFL-listed players available (with Busslinger and Baker up with the seniors), this was a quality team win. The Dogs now turn their attention to a tough road trip to Williamstown next week.

Who gives a f*ck about an Oxford Comma, I’ve seen those English dramas too.
Real talk: I think we should be happy with any contributions, in any form. If people are willing to take the time to offer insight, that is ok with me.😂 1👍 1Comment

I agree, but also when I see a post like that I get about three lines in before my eyes glaze over and I scroll to the next.Comment

Yep, some will. Some won’t. Also depends on what it is about. I couldn’t watch the VFL game, so was happy to read anything that offered some insight.👍 1Comment
