Croft showing something today, I dunno I know people are off him but he’s got something. He’s very much a nearly player at this stage, nearly takes a good mark but doesn’t quite stick. Takes a good mark but lets himself down with the kick etc.

Gotta remember how far back this kid is starting from, he’s still only ever strung together what 6 or so games in a row? Seriously skinny and so many injuries. He will take time but his size and athleticism along with his competitiveness. That’s a guy that will make it at AFL level IMO.

He could be the perfect support to Naughty and Darcy with his versatility and running capacity. He could take the ruck mins, get up and down the ground to keep Naughty & Darcy deep and his follow up work at ground level and defensive pressure is Naughton Lite. Hes cut from the same cloth but maybe not quite as talented.

I think he’s a better fit than Marra for example for that role.

although I think he’s at least 3 years off consistent AFL level but who knows players can develop at different speeds. He just needs a run at it but finally starting to impact now

Also on Croft - being asked to play 2nd ruck again this week which gets him up and down the ground

Good call doggies ftw. We can be very impatient with our youngsters, expecting them to blossom from day one. I’m not sure in Croft however can see potential. One thing I like about him is his competitiveness. Got a feeling he sets high standards for himself. I’m hoping he might be a decent swingman, back & forward option, kinda like Lobb. Another few years in gym will do wonders too.
            Josie :)

            Our day will come
            And we'll have everything.
            We'll share the joy
            Just like '54 again.

Been watching Arty. Hasn’t touched the ball and just runs around without knowing where to position himself

I’ve seen enough, I want Sellwood in our side - he adds a competitive edge that we don’t really have in our smalls/mediums - I sound like I think he’s our saving grace with the way I go on about him, it’s not that but I just see him playing a filling a role our defence needs and he’s AFL ready with his body. Dale, Bramble & JJ can all push up the field to offer some more run and attacking options. Dale especially could be released at times to play a more damaging forward half role (see NWM) with Sellwood in the side.

Theres room and he’s got two good match ups against Melb & WCE to somewhat find his feet before the real stuff starts

Yeah not a good showing for Arty today, I thought he was past this sort of performance although he looks like he’s struggling to keep up with the pace of the game a bit. I will cut him some slack as he’s just had 10 weeks off, quite often players say it’s the 2nd up game which is the hardest and tougher to back up than the first game back off a long lay off.

I agree in most part about Sellwood , i think when he finally settles down with the guys around him and the style of play i think u'll find thoes times where he gives the ball away will stop .
In my opinion he will battle with Cleary for a spot , i cant see both playing in our back line at the same time .

Hard to watch Jonesy turning the ball over like this. Hopefully his got enough in his legs to carry the vfl boys to the promised lands, hard to see him coming back into the ones

I’m a sucker for athletic versatile mediums who can play small or tall, can intercept aerially or compete at ground level and can offer some offensive drive. Can’t have enough IMO so I think you can play both Cleary & Sellwood who both have those traits.

Walkers best game for the club, looking much more comfortable out there and getting involved. Nice traits.

Buku not sticking his marks today like he usually does but feel like his follow up work is some of the best I’ve seen from him. It’s clearly been made out to him that this is what he needs to improve. Doesn’t necessarily come naturally to him I think he’s prone to switching off a little bit but looks like he’s making an effort there which is good
