I would imagine our 2023 2nd round pick would be around the mark or better still all those 4th rounders we banked.
I would be talking to him to start training and playing as a key defender.

Exciting to have all these talls. The last time we had this many talls was in the 1970s

Sam Darcy was mooted as a later pick before he started his u18 year.
This time of year it's just too hard to predict where kids get drafted. So many progress really quickly, some stagnate

Hopefully he grows at least 1cm or he will be too short on the BAD KPD scale.

Those glut of fourths we hold, really bonus picks (Schache, who could’ve been delisted and haggling an extra one off Brisbane), might be very handy. Trade the future second for a Lohmann (type) and provided Croft doesn’t go First Round, he comes in as a ‘bonus’. Nice outcome.

Those fourths ‘might’ be worth around 200 Draft Points. The F/S Discount after the First Round is 197 Draft Points. That rough math means we if we could pick him up late second round (after shuffling) around Pick 40, we’d get him for those Fourths. The extra spots held open to keep the picks ‘live’ for Draft Points then filled with rookies at the list lodgement after the National Draft.

          Merry Christmas.

The more I reflect on this list management period, the more I think we need to look ‘judging’ it across this year and next.

Will we need Lohman? If Charlie comes on we'll have three talls (Lobb/Naughton Marra as first choice with Darcy developing, Buku depth) and Weightman/Clarke with the forward/mid playing high half forward (McLean/Garcia/West/McNeill/Bedendo).

Now, If Miles Bergman is 'gettable' I might be a ears. Or a young KPD we can hang our hat on for the next 8-10 years - Jordan Butts from the Crows is OOC, will turn 23 next year, is a Vic boy and we have two first rounders to play with....

As a lower value trade, I’d like it. Three gun talls, Cody a medium/hybrid, Clarke and Lohmann as smalls. That’s assuming Lohmann remains unsigned, wants to come home (Ballarat), plays limited seniors in 2023 and they have to take our late second rounder for the trade. Which is a fair drop from his Pick 21 to taking Pick 35 or so, two years on if things panned out like this.

If Croft is around the mark (Pick 35-40), I’m even more happier to trade it. But this is a nice to have trade. As you say, with cash and picks, our ambition has got to be a fair bit higher.

I want us to take his twin as a Cat B as well.

The brother is apparently taller and currently involved in volleyball

There's certainly no lack of players recruited as tall forwards that came on as key defenders. We certainly have tall forward options for days at the moment so a free hit at a key defender is an attractive option.

Jordan Croft selected in the Vic Metro 2023 training squad,

A selection of Victoria Metro players will take part in a training hub at The Hangar this weekend as preparations begin for the 2023 national championships

A selection of Victoria Metro’s most talented young footballers will take part in a training camp this weekend in preparation for the 2023 NAB AFL Under-18 National Championships.

The camp will be held at The Hangar, home of the Essendon Football Club, and will feature a host of talented 16 and 17-year-old boys and girls who feature as part of the Victoria Metro regions that compete in the NAB League.

2023 NAB AFL Academy representatives Nate Caddy, William Green, William Lorenz, Nathan Philactides, Archie Roberts and Nick Watson have been named in the boys squad, along with Mahmoud Taha, who is a member of the Bachar Houli Academy.

The boys squad also features several players with links to current and former AFL players.

Levi Ashcroft is the brother of 2022 NAB AFL Draft second pick Will Ashcroft and Vigo Visentini is the brother of current Port Adelaide player Dante Visentini. Meanwhile, Jordan Croft is the son of former Western Bulldogs player Matthew Croft, who played 186 games for the Bulldogs.

All players attending this weekend’s training hub will be given an induction into high-performance and wellbeing programs. They will receive medical screenings, individual development plans and partake in football training sessions.

I do wonder whether either of our two decent NGA prospects fall outside of the top 40.

Luamon Lual & Alex Tsia - both wing prospects (Lual in particular could go early). Disclaimer - I haven't seen either of them play

He's exceptional taking on the game with his speed and agility, stepping through traffic and looking natural with ball in hand. He's a great ball user, takes his time with ball in hand and hits meaningful targets by foot. He also likes a goal and is dangerous whenever there is an opportunity.
