I still find it somewhat amusing that a player who essentially hadn't played on anyone for his first 2 + 1/2 years of senior footy (or ever as an u18) is suddenly looked upon as a relatively 'safe' option with regards his 1:1 work. (Sellwood). Some of the way these things turn out is pretty incredible.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Picks 14 & 33, and incredibly there are 12 picks in between that could get eaten up by bids

I’m sure there will be lots of pick swaps between now and the draft, but there’s a world where through bids we end up drafting at 16 & 27

Id be happy with Oscar Taylor I think he was our main target all along that's why we traded down. Him and Blake Thredgold that with the second pick that will be around 27 after bids are matched.

That would be a great outcome. Thredgold doesn't get the attention in the Phantom drafts like he should.

Sounds like we will be drafting Will Darcy, who is currently injured, but Reagan said he will take longer to develop than Sam.

It's going to be a significant project to develop Will Darcy. It might take 3 years to get him senior football ready.

So where's pick 14 likely to actually end up? Pick 30!? What a joke.

I believe there are 3 NGA players and 1 father son that are likely to go before our pick so worst case scenario should be pick 18.

Carlton currently hold 9 & 11 and have Harry Dean as a possible top 10 pick. Might depend what happens with those picks and where Dean is likely to go as they may look to trade up to get a pick before a bid.

                          Code sports:

The Bulldogs had been exploring a potential move up the draft order by packaging up their first two picks, but nothing was locked in during the trade period at least. Regardless, the club believes there will be some “exciting and diverse” talent available to it. The Dogs could do with another young key defender to develop and should get that in father-son prospect Will Darcy, who is the son of Luke and brother of Sam. Exactly where a bid comes for the raw but promising 198cm tall isn’t completely clear, but it is likely to be after the Bulldogs’ second pick as it stands. So, if the Dogs retain their first pick where it is, they could look to add some outside run and class, with players like Woodville-West Torrens midfielder-forward Jevan Phillipou, Eastern Ranges rebounding defender Oskar Taylor, Sturt wingman Harley Barker or Dandenong Stingrays forward-midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves being potential options.

If we were to trade 14 and 33 to move up what pick would we be aiming for? Somewhere around 7-10?

Either of Carlton’s picks would be the only picks available I’d suggest. Hawks potentially would put their 1st up for sale but I doubt they’d want a pick in this years draft back

Depends where Dean is likely to be bid on I guess. They would want to get a pick in front of that and then trade what they are left with for more points.
