    Lachlan Hunter?

As much as the 2010 draft will be compromised, with Mitch Wallis & Tom Liberatore eligible for F/S picks we should be ahead of the pack.

In 2011 under a compromised draft, we may have another kid available under F/S.

    From another unamed website:
Mark Hunter has a son Lachlan who's 15, he's in the Vic school boy squad at the moment and has won the league B&F in the Western District Football league. As a side note, his mother is a Mcveigh, Auntie of Mark and Jarrad, and is the former captain of Australia's lacrosse team.
Anyone know anything else about this kid? Either way it sounds like we are clearly the established AFL side that may actually benefit from the GC17 / WS18 entries into the AFL now that Higgo is signed.

You can't be any better than the best in league and in the representative side.

    But no, i personally don't.

I'll ask around about him. Know a few umpires in the WRFL

Young Lachlan was best on ground in the final trial game for the Vic under 16 squad today, the Victorian selectors even telling the coach the positions they wanted to see him play. Simon Dalrymple was on site to watch as well.

Excellent news. Which draft is he eligible for?

Any chance GWS could steal him?

Like any potential F/S he has 2 options; a) sign with one of the expansion clubs (or if there weren't expansion clubs nominate for the draft ala Marc Murphy where rejected the option of joining Brisbane under F/S), or nominating as a F/S selection (where the bidding process determines his fate).

Read about Dylan Buckley and was wondering if Hunter would have the same circumstances(but Lachie is a bit younger so it shouldn't matter).

                2012 draft.

No, he wants to play for the Bulldogs. The club have told him they'll hold number 10 when Eagleton retires until he's either drafted or discounted as a F/S selection.

If that's the case, he must be an obvious talent to give such a guarantee this far out from his draft year.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Yeah, he's definitely a talent. He's really quick, is a good kick on either foot, and has a touch of class. He's already working with the club in developing his core strength and running action, and Boyd and Crossy are his mentors, but other the leaving number 10 aside for him there's no guarantees.

He's grown quite a bit taller in the last 12 months and has filled out a bit too. There was a bit of concern he might be a bit small, given the Mcveigh side is quite little, but it doesn't look like it'll be an issue now.

Excellent news. He was involved with the Bulldogs during his school holidays last year wasn't he?

In any case, he'll be hard pressed to find better training mentors than Boyd & Cross.

Yes, but more as a look and see sort of thing.

He was supposed to spend time at the club during the xmas break just gone, but his old man decided to take the family to Disneyland for a holiday. He must have had some big collects on the punt.

Spent some time at the club during the last week of the school holidays just gone and was impressive by all accounts.

In the mean time, he will be a welcome addition at the Western Jets next year. Looking forward to that.
