Re: Williamstown vs Port Melbourne (Round 20)
Good win today today by the Seadogs against a team that really came to play. My views of Doggies;
Addison - a typical game. Hard in the contest and nothing short of full commtiment. A solid game. Ready for senior recall if required.
Boumann - Beat his opponents even though they were just big lumps standing motionless. Will play senior footy next year.
Callan - Same as Addison.
Lynch - Not up to it today. Despite a nice goal from 50 under pressure he just ran around around in circles and often chose the wrong option. If today is any barometer he will be delisted. Pat Rose is clearly a better footballer.
O'Keefe - Missing when the heat was on early but came into it as the game went on. Some very effective touches in the second half. Solid game overall.
Roughead - Made a statement in the 3rd 1/4 with 2 goals including one from a massive pack mark. Lots to like about him. Can't wait too see a four quarter effort.
Skipper - solid game in the first half. Looked a bit slow but the endeavour couldn't be questioned.
Stack - Once again flashed in and out. But his contributions were important. Good game
Tiller - Very good until injured. Too good for this level and must be close to senior selection.
Wood - Outstanding again. I called it some time ago and I'll say it again. He'll be a senior regular before too long.
Looking at the best players as reported in the media I honestly have no idea how they work it out. Johnson was first named in the bests and I thought he was ordinary and slow. Davies was my BOG. I pray we don't draft Jolley. A great win by Willi today against a strong opponent.Listening to Brahm's 3rd RacketComment

Re: Williamstown vs Port Melbourne (Round 20)
Was his previous two games for the dogs typical?, if so then i would agree with the hard at the contest but my problem with him is his decision making, disposal, lack of disposals and how he falls to ground too often in 1 on 1's.
Did he display any of these qualities or was he a different player?
Also who was Boumann playing on? was it Bonnadio or Deluca?Comment

No idea how O'Keefe got named in the bests, I thought he was ordinary. Davies was BOG by a mile and didn't manage to get in the best half dozen.

Re: Williamstown vs Port Melbourne (Round 20)
For those of you that were at the game. O'keefe had a little cameo on tv after the game because he was rewarded with B.o.g. Pretty much just says he needs a big pre season and hopes to get a game next year. Was asked if he hoped the bulldogs team selectors were watching. Replied with something like "You'd hope they were, as always" ((?) sketchy memory)
Gotch's 3rd quarter speech was very well delivered. Mentioned a few of the bulldogs players efforts. Wood backing into a pack, Roughead standing up when needed etc etcComment

Re: Williamstown vs Port Melbourne (Round 20)
Pleasing aspects from a Bulldog perspective. Boumann is going to be a very damaging running defender [needs more size] Roughead impressed with that super pack mark and nice ground level goal. Stack and Wood are way above the level,O'keefe will play senior footy next season. One of the toughest VFL games I've seen in ages. Why were the commentators waffling on about home finals when all the finals bar one are at North Port?Comment

Re: Williamstown vs Port Melbourne (Round 20)
I'm currently in sunny Ballarat and will post more when I get home.
I thought Jones was good in the reserves, providing a strong target across half forward. Comparing him to Grant, he just knows where to lead and how to time it to get separation - impressive for a teenager.
He needs to work on a few things over the pre-season-building his tank and bulking up are a given but he needs to give some attention to his goal kicking. At the moment he lacks some penetration and he seems to fade the ball. Once he gets that part of his game right, it'll be happy days indeed.
I should also note that O'Shea showed some good signs, playing out of the goal square.
Daniels was also hard out it and has become almost a purely inside midfielder, when at the start of the year I thought he'd be a line breaking dasher. I think he'll be a key player for Willy over the next few weeks as he seems to thrive on the tough stuff. Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment

It was a bit of a mixed bag from Roughead. He dropped and even missed some defensive marks but then took a great one up forward.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment
