Willy are playing a really good brand of footy, have plenty of options both forward and back,

German seems to be having a very positive impact on the group, and I think its the best set up for our draftees in a while. I also like the fact that our kids are surrounded by some really good senior players who are probably also good guys and good role models for them i.e Brett Johnson, Little, Stretton, Faulks, Jolley etc.

I was impressed with Germans three quarter time work. He doesnt seem a berating type of coach, but you cant imagine him not holding them accountable for their performances, or being too soft or a pushover. He is definitely trying to educate and teach the players, and this emphasis on actively teaching them seems to be more emphasised than the somewhat introverted Gotch approach.

Jones is going to be a bit of a gun, isn't he?

I thought he was good too. Unlucky not to get paid a few free kicks.

          Good last mark and goal

Yep, he is a very likely type.

I look forward to seeing what he might be able to do next year after another pre-season. One would think that now Hall is settled in that he would take a pretty big role in getting both Jones & Grant ready for the 2011 season.

Jones had a really good second half. He presents well and always provides a contest. Never gives up, including when the ball hits the deck. Pretty quick and also took a few strong marks. Needs to improve his kicking - but he'll be a good player.

I thought Everitt played pretty well. His defensive efforts created scoring opportunities and with the ball in hand, he made some very smart decisions and executed well.

Hill wasn't the best player on the ground, but was one of the better stories of the day. His effort was much, much better. Like Everitt, he gave Williamstown scoring chances through defensive persistence. We know what Hill can offer offensively, so it was great to see the effort back in his game today.

Faulks was a monster in the back half - how old is he?

Really pleased with Panos today, he didn't dominate but the knock on him before the draft was he's a one dimensional full forward, he played up the ground and did a number of clever things.

We might see a bit of Howard in the Bulldogs team next year!

Rapt with Everitt's game, I just wish I knew who's spot he could take in the 22.

The cupboard's a bit bare in the depth department over at Carlton. What a shame

                      Totally agree mate.

I keep using the line but he is clearly in our best 22 players IMO but it' another matter to find a role for him to be in our best 22 to run out there.

I think we should give hum another chance to string together a few games and just find a spot in the side. If it works, he can feel comfortable in the side before finals and if it doesn't, we lose out on what the other bloke being in the 22nd spot would have offered us.

I think the potential return is worth the risk.

Yep, Skinny responded just the way he should.

He seems to have taken the MC's thoughts on board (re: lack of intensity & 2nd efforts) and put a really solid performance.

It is now up to the players in the senior team who are on the edge of the 22 to play well because if they don't Skinny is snapping at their heals for a spot in the side.

                            Was noticeably better than usual.
Only saw the second half, but Jones just keeps presenting, time & time again. Very good hands, not quite ready for AFL yet but will be a beauty. Would love to see him develop a bit more swagger.

Tim Callan just gets the job done whenever he has to. Time may be running out though; his fate may rest in Harbrow's hands.

I was at the game and heard in the reserves that he would be missing with a minor injury.
He was there and walking around OK.
