    Re: Cash Converters - 2010

Robbie Gray as part of a trade (I do have a player in mind that Port have a shortage of) A draft pick coming our way I would look to get as well.

Nathan Djerrkurra as part of a trade or a draft choice

    Richard Tambling as above

Chris Knights - Adelaide would want our 1st pick, so not sure we could do it. Although I know of a player of ours who they used to rate that could get the deal done.

Alwyn Davey as part of a trade or player

Gray would be rated in Port's best 3 players. We would need to give up a fair bit.

Not really a cash converter either.

      Which player?

As our first live pick (at present) will be a late 3rd rounder we will need to 'trade up' to get a suitable pick for this trade as a pick around 60 won't get it done.

Imagine our forward line then. Hall! Grant! Jones! Shulz!

Oh. Hang on - that would suck because we still wouldn't have any crumbers!

Rampe hasn't been mentioned yet. I'd be happy to rookie him and see how he develops, seems to have the tools to suggest he could make it.

Yes - he is inconsistent but his absolute best is game-breaking. I rate him higher than Stack/Hill despite inconsistency.

To be fair to Peake, he still leads the AFL in the all important "shin kicks to advantage" stat

As for the Schulz call, if you're going to make a million calls on AFL players you're bound to get the occasional one half-right

And now on to my annual push for the Dogs to go after Matt Spangher. Very unselfish key defender (ie: he actually tries to chop out and assist his fellow defenders, none of whom return the favour - I'm looking at you Brett Jones) with good size and pace. He's out of contract and will not be at West Coast next season IMO. I'd like some key defensive cover on our list that can actually a) run on top of the ground and b) compete against their direct opponent one-out. We seem to have plenty of key defenders on our list that can do one or the other - Spangher can do both and he will not cost us much to get him across. He is not a Woosha favourite for whatever reason but I think he could thrive at the right club and under the right coach.

I do think we need to look at tall defenders, whether it being in the National draft or trade, and Spangher certaintly fits the bill, whether he's good enough, thats a different manner.

You could just imagine the banner in the cheer squad..."Ya canna hand a man a granda Spangher"

Spangher is one I wouldn't mind at the club, he can play on the mid-sizers too which leaves Shaggy & Morris more chance to take an opposition small.

                    Agreed.

                    Nice one Sedat.

If I recall correctly he had an impressive '09 season but fell right out of calculations this year. Anybody know why - injuries, form or both?

I think the MC found his hairstyle out of fashion.
Seriously, do not know why he was out of favour, I would prefer Mitch Brown

Andrew Walker is one I wouldn't mind us going after, not happy at Carlton and he is happy to be traded anywhere and if the Blues are still into Everitt a straight swap could almost get it done.
He has been ruined IMO at Carlton being used in negating roles when his strength as a junior and at the start of his career was being an more attacking outside running player(his kicking can let him down at times though). His shoulders aren't a problem anymore either as they have been tightened and according to him they are indestructible now.
                              The curse is dead.
