Re: Williamstown vs Werribee Round 17
I just don't think either of them (particularly Cordy) will survive a whole season of senior football next year. Do we keep Minson around to be the 3rd wheel/back-up or do we try and trade him again and rely on Jones to be the back-up ruck option? All this is assuming that Hudson retires/gets his walking papers which given the club's recent list management I am not at all sure they will do. I'm not saying it couldn't work but we definitely need a good back-up plan.2012 temporary insanity? Look I don't think we should play them both next week but as scary as NicNat/Cox are, neither are monster type rucks. With an evenish spilit of ruck dutes, both would only have to play 50% of the time in the ruck and we have Jones as back up (am I just digging a bigger hole there?).
Remember, I said short answer was yes, it's crazy.
I'd be tempted to dump Huddo, plan for Minson & Roughy as the rucks in the 21 and hope Cordy can push Minson aside.Park that car

Re: Williamstown vs Werribee Round 17
Physical or mental? As great as they are as a ruck combo, I don't think they are especially imposing physically.
With Will and Hudson being so limited as ruckmen it means that whenever Roughy gets a go he gets very limited spurts in the ruck. I really think momentum is huge as a ruckman and I am not sure it's a great role for Roughy/Cordy to fill.
Ayce/Roughy combo means they only really have to play about 50% TOG in the ruck each and can rotate throughout the game. You can even sub one and give Jones his time as a 2nd ruck.Comment

Re: Williamstown vs Werribee Round 17
Chucking people into the seniors before they are physically ready or before they have their best chance to succeed isn't they way to go. We have been so patient with Cordy I don't see the sense in pitting him against Cox and the other big guys from West Coast unless we are convinced it will be a major positive for him.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Roughead gets monstered when he plays in the ruck at AFL level.... If he plays extended minutes against Cox/ Nic Nat in the ruck I can only see him struggling.
Cordy has played just 3 games over the past 6 weeks due to injury, the last 2 weeks he has from reports hardly played in the ruck.
Roughy probably should come in to play as our 2nd ruck, but Cordy isn't ready and we should be focused on him getting ready to play next year.Comment

Re: Williamstown vs Werribee Round 17
RE Cordy realistically when do we expect him to be ready for AFL? We were saying the same thing last year about him.More of an In Bruges guy?Comment
