I think it's quite unfair the way Minson has been judged on the grand final. Sure he wasn't as great as expected, but throughout the season we was probably the best ruckman in the VFL. You can't just count the 'it's only VFL excuse' for the his games and want him cut after his worst game of the year.
Perhaps Will was carrying an injury or got hurt early in the game.
He spent more time off the ground than in any of the other finals.

He still contributed solidly with to goal assists to Panos and a great tap to Djerrkura for a goal as highlights.

I also thought he got scragged continually, particularly by Fanning and the umps jst let it happen.

I believe Ayres put plenty of thought into negating Will's influence.

Judged on 8 seasons of disappointment.
People have to concede Minson hasn't Improved, that's factual.
I'd guess he'll get the number one gig and his very last chance.
Seriously concerned against the other number one rucks

I think Cooney has made some of his most electrifying centre clearances when Will has put the ball straight down his throat.

Give him the first fives games next year as our number one ruck and let Roughy alternate between tall forward ruck and bench.

        Ruckmen take time.

The physio and doctr were working on Will when he came off.

            Absolutely correct.

I would love to hear which ruckman Cooney has enjoyed roving to most.

While our ruck division might not be strong, there are more pressing deficiencies in the team that require more attention. Changing Minson over to someone elses discard isnt gonna make a huge difference.

Getting something for Minson now and getting a mature aged ruckman as a late pick will benefit us.
Buy vs sell, would do it while the sell still has some currency today vs the buy which will be at next to no cost at all.

Debatable. How does it happen that we don't value Minson but other clubs do? Mature rucks from other clubs will benefit us but they don't at the original club.

Late picks? You want something good, you pay for it.

I can't talk about the SANFL or WAFLE, but the only ruckmen in the VFL as good as him were Warnock and Bellchambers when they played, and even he was just as good as them

                        How?

Minson would be the mature aged ruck everybody is looking at if he wasn't already on an AFL list

Many stats in footy are irrelevant however the two important ones for a ruckman are EFFECTIVE Hitouts per game and clearance percentage per stoppage in a game. Eg Won by Us; Won by them; Neutral.

Im pretty sure these are not really available but I am sure Minson has a high efficiency in effective hitouts.
