    Re: Your Local Football Club

My local club is Westmeadows which is in B grade in the Essendon District Football League. Craig Ellis and Scott Wynd played juniors here. Scotty also played juniors at Jacana. Westmeadows has also produced Andrew Krakouer (North), Corey and Shaun McKernan ( North Melbourne and Adelaide), Anthony McGregor (Fitzroy), Andrew Welsh (Essendon) and Dane Swan (Coll)

They also field a side in the VAFA club 18's competition, as our clubbies side (Mazenod) play them rather frequently.

We have a variety, including Mazenod (who I play for and Matthew Boyd was a non-rookie draft selection away from playing for), Glen Waverley Hawks and Mulgrave to name the three most prominent for me.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

As a kid I spent two seasons at Parkside FC - they're most famous former footballer was the Great Zeno Tsatsaris

I'm not sure my current club (that we've just cobbled together) will have anyone drafted anytime soon - I don't think the scouts are that keen on the Renegade Pub Football League as a source of talent.

There was a bloke on the list from my Junior club last season, but he was crap and we delisted him to GWS.

No players from my present club, although Steven King from our coaching staff played juniors here and we do have a kid on Adelaides rookie list.

My dad played for Parkside, made their Team of the Century (along with Zeno!) in 2003.

Do you mean Phil Bradmore? He wore #18 just before Simon Beasley. He's Finleys fourth most famous product after Yabbie Jeans, Shane Crawford and Spiderbait.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

We don't have any AFL players because we haven't played a game in anger yet.

We had Auskick last year and this year we will also be entering U9's in South Metro league as Ashwood Juniors.

Any U9's looking for a game we need more kids.

Ashwood Cricket Club have a couple of handy ex-players in Dean Jones and Paul Reiffel.

Crossroads(Nth Sunshine) Sunshine(VFA) FIT, Flem/Ken, Sunshine VRI and West Footscray were clubs I played with, now live around the corner from St Albans , think they all clocked up a few AFL players over the years.
Okay so I am old but those were the days.

Played junior footy at Upwey-Tecoma in the YVMDFL. Was coached by Damien Hardwick's dad in the U18's (who was an excellent junior coach in his own right). Damien played there before my time and I played with Jason Snell who was on Geelong's list but whose career ended with a horrifying ankle break. I believe Rory Sloane is the only former Upwey Tiger on an AFL list atm.

Growing up in West Sunshine we didn't have a local club at all. Played footy for the school.

When I was 10 I was asked to play soccer for the local team and did that for a year but hated it as my passion was Football. The nearest club to us was in Sunshine but that seemed miles away and the old man never drove a car.

These days I live in Armadale not far from Toorak Park and I sometimes wonder down there on a Saturday to watch Old Xavs.

I lived in Armadale until about 13 and played U13's and 14's at Toorak Park for Prahran back in the day.

Can you believe a few VFL games were played there back in the 40's I think.

BAD means VFL as in previously AFL not VFA.

Toorak Park was (I think) St. Kilda's home ground during WWII
