Re: List Management - Hawthorn
How old is Travis Varcoe? Nick Suban or Ashley Smith from WCE would be nice.
McKenzie from Gold Coast has a lethal left foot on him who has not lived up to the hype, being from Williamstown is handy.
Where is Todd Banfield at?Comment

Re: List Management - Hawthorn
Good suggestions. Varcoe is a bit injury prone at the moment. I like Smith a lot, what a Suban's skills like?
What about Shannon Byrnes from Geelong? A little old perhaps but would fill a need.More of an In Bruges guy?Comment

Now we're rolling. Sorry for sabotaging the thread!
- I don't watch a lot of the Eagles, but Suban and Smith are SOLID suggestions.
- Re: Mackenzie, are GC17 ready to trade out already?
- Andrew Moore another solid moneyball suggestion.
- Xavier Ellis - pass! (if you think Tambling isn't inside, Bulldog Joe...)
- I wouldn't have thought Geelong would be willing to trade Varcoe out -- he's injured isn't he? Slots straight back into the side when fit one would have thought...

Re: List Management - Hawthorn
Collingwood have some significant salary cap issues, from a Herald Sun article about Dayne Beams:
Out of contract at the end of the year, the heavily restricted Magpies may have budgeted for him to re-sign in the region of $250,000 a season.
Even with the big squeeze on, Beams is laying claims to be worth at least $350,000 at the Pies - and far more on the open market.
If he stays, as expected, he will have to settle for less given the long list of uncontracted players vying for fair financial reward.
Travis Cloke is almost certain to stay, probably earning in the realm of $800,000 a year over four years.
Steele Sidebottom, Jarryd Blair and Ben Reid are believed to be on the brink of re-signing. All three also have strong cases for significant rises.
But the real action is in the grouping of Beams, Sharrod Wellingham and Tyson Goldsack, who all remain out of contract at the end of this year.
Hopefully one or more might be squeezed out. I would be interested in any of Beams, Wellingham or Goldsack for the right price.Comment

Heard on Fox footy recently that GC will be trading out a number of young players this year to attempt to get more mature bodies in.Now we're rolling. Sorry for sabotaging the thread!

Re: List Management - Hawthorn
Interesting thread.
I think McKenzie from GC is still contracted for another year, not sure they would let him go. Would love him still. Weller is a similar sort and out of contract I think.
I really like the Smith suggestion.
Kane Lucas from Carlton?Comment

Re: List Management - Hawthorn
Lantern, yet you did?
Either way I don't mind Byrnes as a goal sneak who has pace and can kick a goal. Plus isn't our club all about picking up who Geelong don't need??
On Sidebottom fantastic skills but I think he is the type who does well in a good team, would struggle in a lower end team.More of an In Bruges guy?Comment

Lets be realistic here, Sidebottom is not going anywhere. Whether you like it or not, Collingwood do not lose gun players they want to retain.Lantern, yet you did?
