Not that anyone cares after the Scully donation but doesn't Melbourne get dudded here. Arguably have the two better players and they combined aren't worth either one of Pearce or Chaplin individually. Obviously Byrnes lessens this somewhat but only marginally.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

You have to get free agents otherwise you are penalized.
How do you justify all clubs go down in the draft order when you were not part of the deal?
You get a free agent eg Essendon, all you pay is you lose us a place in the draft order after your first pick.
I know you'd prefer not to have free agency at all, but now that its here would you prefer the compo picks scrapped?

I think a few of the clubs do want the compo picks scrapped - eg Geelong

Yeah that would be great, the poor teams not performing well get their players picked off.
I think the Compo is a little all over the shop to be honest.
Not massive on F/A, just don't reckon we needed it.

I'm not sure it's a load of crap but it certainly hasn't been well thought out by the AFL.

I agree that other clubs not involved shouldn't be disadvantaged because if it.

Should there even be any compensation for a club losing a player to FA?

Players seem to think FA is good.

They won't be happy until there is no FA restrictions and no salary cap.

The compensation for Clinton Young seems a bit wrong. Then again, I can only wish Hawthorn FC all the worst ^_^.

                        You cannot blame them though.

I think FA should stay, but no compo pick. I think next year the compo pick won't be around.

You can when they start wanting more than we can afford, which won't be far away.

The players are getting too greedy and it will be to the detriment of our club and an even competition.

Happy for FA to give players flexibility in their careers but like others don't agree that non-active clubs get punished at the draft table becasue of it.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

The problem with the bolded bit is that if a club loses a FA but gains another it cancels out. Should the clubs gaining a free agent lose draft picks? It would effectively make the FA transaction a defacto trade.

It all seemed to sound so good in theory...
