Re: Playing List 2014
Just as an example, we had 13 listed players available for VFL section this week. That is 9 short, 8 if you want to include Prismall with his role at the club.Comment

Re: Playing List 2014
If our injury toll is so bad that 20 top up players aint enough for us to field a team in the VFL we have bigger problems.Comment

Re: Playing List 2014
Just had a look at the Cats and Pies websites, they have about 20 VFL players each. Couldn't get info on Collingwood's players but all 20 of Geelong's have local league clubs. Bit like the WA/SA AFL club players with their WAFL/SANFL clubs.Comment

Re: Playing List 2014
Does anyone know when we start to build this list?
Obviously it starts with the AFL team but when do we recruit the VFL players we want? Never really taken much notice of VFL clubs starting out.
We are presumably starting slightly behind the 8 ball re quality VFL players as the seagulls et al will already have locked away the bulk of their consistent talent where they can already. Compensated obviously by having a depth of AFL player to form a nexus of the team.
I guess post draft we start making a series of offers at the kids who don't get taken as well as previously listed AFL talent who don't get offered another chance at AFL level?Comment

Re: Playing List 2014
Just looking at twitter and apparently ex too and eagle Chad Jones has signed as a line coach. Also looking at Darcy Fort, a ruck from Werribee.
Apparently the majority of players we target will be from the VAFA and the Western Region.

Agree considering his injury woes this year, it is great to get him playing under our program next year so we can closely monitor/nurture him going forward."Loves a scrap....oh yeah & he's a pretty handy footballer as well"Comment
