I know I'm like the proverbial dog with a bone on this issue, but why oh Why are we so heavily into Bontempelli ?
All the watchers and observers don't rate him as high as our pick!
The kid's inconsistent (pretty common in that age group )Aish and others are more consistent , it's just way to risky !
Recruiters falling in love with scope for improvement and ceilings and Body size annoys and scares me at the same time. We've down this athletic drafting fail before!!

I do agree but I was under the impression Bontempelli wasn't an athlete as such? Footballer first?
More of an In Bruges guy?

Probably more his growth spurt than his athletic ability.

                Got us taking MB .
To me this just reeks of Sedats 2009 " we're the smartest men in the room " mentality.
                I hope I'm wrong , but I'm miffed

I don't think this is the case. We have legitimate questions for the players available around our selection.
While I haven't been an advocate for us drafting Bontempelli, I can understand why we might be interested.

Made my feelings known, and I guess we'll be addressing the selection in a few years time.
Won't be storming the W / O with my pitch fork and flame, but I'm just surprised we're not taking the lesser of a risk with others.

Bonts reminds me of Barlow from Freo. I love Barlow.

                        Re: Media Phantom Drafts

For me, the draft is like the stock market.
You've got your blue chip shares,
and then you've got your speculative....... "this obscure company is just about to patent a cure for cancer, and nobody knows yet"......... type of shares.

Now you might throw some pocket money, or an unexpected windfall on the speculative shares.

But with your hard earned savings, your superannuation, you just want the least risk, rock solid blue chip shares.

No wild forecasts of incredible possible dividends, just a 'this will be a safe solid investment' type scenario.

PICK 4 IS HARD EARNED SAVINGS, SUPERANNUATION TYPE TERRITORY.

Please take the no risk option Dogs.

For me that choice is Aish, not Bontempelli.

If there's no real standout in this draft, I can't understand why we would risk a dark horse.

Not that I'm particularly excited about many of the likely top 5. Kelly reminds me of Tom Scully and Scharenberg of Everitt. It'll be interesting looking back in a few years if this is one of those drafts where even the best of the top 15 end up being mediocre and there being plenty of outright busts.

Was reading the latest phantom draft from a noted draft watcher, Paige Cardona. She has us getting Aish at 4, Mitch Harvey at 42 and Darcy Hourigan at 60. All of them are Croweaters, which would go some way to alleviating the go home factor. Can anyone shed any light on Harvey and Hourigan?

                                Hourigan and Harvey are forwards.
Hourigan is a heavy set ( being nice) lead up forward type
Harvey is a young raw key forward.
MJP and the SA posters could elaborate more.
