I guess the thing is, risk and reward. We're a small club and if we only want to play the conservative option, we won't get far. Like with the Lake trade, we have to be prepared to roll the dice now and then.
So will be quite interesting if we get Bont.

He could play in a number of positions given his pace and athleticism. He needs to improve his endurance

There is a difference between taking a speculative pick at 71 and taking a kid at pick 4 that many don't have in their top ten, but realistically we aren't going to compete with other clubs if we play it safe considering the draft concessions GWS & GCS have been granted.

Obviously Bonts would be taken for upside, and we've had some success in drafting kids who show rapid improvement during their draft year (Ward & Macrae). I guess it comes down to development & 'teachability' (shaddup it is too a word!)

Can't stand Quayle, twomey, clark and co releasing 'phantom' drafts a day before the big day. Then crapping on how "I got 14 out of the first 15 correct".

Pretty easy when u go around gathering leaks from recruiters/players. Release a phantom draft after the TAC cup final and state who will and won't be a player. Not this 'hands like Carey, kicks like Buckley will go pick 50' rubbish.

In fairness to the draft watchers you'd imagine clubs play all sorts of ducks and drakes.
For example it was implied Hawthorn might have leaked that Garlett didn't rock up to a meeting. Lying is the new truth in some quarters.
