That's around 4 weeks in a row that Roberts has been named in the bests. Time for a promotion.

    Much appreciated Jaytee.

So disappointing about Howard. Needs to be pushing on but haven't heard a good report about him all year. Thanks for brave souls who went and wrote report. My old man trekked up there and reckoned he was a danger driving home as couldn't feel his feet, yet alone the brake/accelerator!

Referring to the game stats,Howard had 12 effective disposals 2 tackles,"next"as a description of how he performed is a bit harsh !

If Howard was our first round pick from the last year or 2, then sure 12 effective disposals would be an okay game. But he was drafted in 2009. Yes he had injuries early on. But he has had a good enough run at it now to atleast start showing signs of improvement and he hasn't.

Atleast half of those 'effective' kicks would have been short/sideways passes in the backline. He had zero impact on the game. 2 tackles is certaintly nothing to get excited about either.

It was also he's lack of efforts which was a concern. He just doesn't look fit. I've completely given up on him, hence the 'next'.

Not defending Howard as such, but are you aware that he had another operation with a delayed start as well as the salmonella incident. He would definitely be lacking fitness with the interruptions he has had.

I am close to convinced that he won't make it, but he may yet turn it around as he builds on his fitness.

On the match stats I was alarmed at the lack of involvement from Fuller with no idea on his game time.

From the few games I've seen him play he looks to be really struggling with the step up from SANFL to VFL footy. Not encouraging signs given how big the jump is from VFL to AFL.

Wallis with a game-high 30 disposals and 7 tackles would have to be knocking down the door. Kept Swallow to 20 touches by the looks of things as well.

Stats like these can be misleading but it's good to read that Darley had 12 effective kicks and only 2 ineffective. Supports what I have observed about him previously namely that he is a fine kick.

Half of Howard's kicks were helicopters.

Need to cut our losses at the end of the year.

Should've been last year. I think a few heard Macca say Howard was going to be a 100 game player. I didn't think he meant 100 VFL games. The club got it wrong, I think it's the mentality of not cutting a first rounder for whatever reason. We've got a long history of this too.

And have been the whole 5 years he's been on the list. Whenever he tries to do anything other than kick short and sideways 3 out of 4 are 35m helicopters.

I don't think there's a worse kick at the club

Whether that's true or not (I'd always back Howard in over Talia or Smith), it is disappointing that a player who was drafted for their kicking ability seems to be one of the poorer kicks at the club. Makes you wonder how informed the recruiters really are when making the calls they make. As a head recruiter, you can only get around to maybe 3-4 games per weekend of under eighteen footy, meaning that Dalrymple might have only seen Howard play a couple of times himself.
