I don't think there's a worse kick at the club
Agreed, which makes the decision to draft him all the more bizarre. I've never really seen him use the ball so well that I said to myself "Gee, that's a terrific kick". I have voiced huge concerns over Tutt, but at least he's provided glimpses - you can 'see' the attraction (eg. dynamic pace, run and carry, ball use). I've never seen anything from Howard that makes me think he's even a good VFL player.

On Darley, I wonder if he's the type of player who would perform better at AFL level? The position that he plays, he's probably never going to dominate/knock the door completely down. He might be that type of player who just plays his role well without starring.

Like others, I think it's probably time to play Roberts.

As a head recruiter, you can only get around to maybe 3-4 games per weekend of under eighteen footy, meaning that Dalrymple might have only seen Howard play a couple of times himself.
Not true.. watched him like a hawk.

Did I read earlier this year we've hired Neville Stibbard from Norf Melbourne?

I think you are correct. In a consultancy role.

Well then maybe he should have been watching other games. You get my point, don't you? One person can only see maybe 60-100 games of football per year.

It's more of a case of injuries and failed development then poor drafting, although it was a big reach, he was more of a second-third round talent. I'm surprised that he shanks so many kicks given he's supposed to be a good kick, but will keep in mind that he's had a lot of hip surgery, with hips being an important part of the body for a good kicking action.

We knew about his hip issues before drafting him. We weren't unlucky, we just wanted him at all costs no matter what.
