Re: Potential draft considerations
I'm a big advocate for reducing the interchange but i'm not naive enough to know that coach's will look at ways to work around the rules to play the game they want to.
Perhaps we may see less talls and less one dimensional players that can only play one role. Maybe clubs will look at forward line and midfield players as the same thing, that they can basically rotate throughout the game. I really don't see coaches just going back to the old style of positional match ups. It may end up looking more that way but there will be differences, and perhaps the club that plan's the best for this change might leap frog the others.
You would think in the combine that if you don't do well in the endurance tests then you would struggle to get drafted. Will be interesting to see.Comment

Re: Potential draft considerations
I've seen limited footage of players, so like most I'm going on type rather than the individual as such, but I can see a pretty compelling case for 3 players that are likely to be available around our pick.
Sam Durdin- Key defender, big enough to play the role at AFL level and could be a point of difference to compliment Roughy. Key defence is a pretty glaring gap in our list.
Peter Wright- Plays a mix of ruck/key forward who could compliment Campbell really nicely over the next 8-10 year and give us a mix that would be really dangerous for opposition teams. With interchange rotations like to be reduced again, but of those two could play near enough to 100% of game time and still be effective.
Christian Petracca- Looks a quality player who can be damaging through the midfield and forward, which again with potentially less rotations in future is an asset. He would add to a really strong mix of similar players.
I really like the look of Laverde as a running halfback, but I'd be hesitant to use such an early first rounder on that type. If he was available in the second round I'd be all over him.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: Potential draft considerations
Spurling (ex AIS) is a highly skilled athlete, playing as a ruck man, for mine he lopes between contests a bit too much.
Johansen was the SA u18 captain but is a midget with average kicking skills.Comment
