You have to feel for Simon Dalrymple, the mans gone from holding the keys to the city, to waiting in line at the soup kitchen! If he can muster even one really good kid from those picks he has done extremely well.

We already traded for the keys to the city on Wednesday . Boyd's numbers dwarf the likes of McCartin and Wright and is a much safer bet to make it than either of these two, who might not have been there for us at pick 4 in any event. Some really dumb comments by the scribes talking about what we shelled out for Boyd haven't taken any of this into account at all.

And three 2nd round picks followed by two 3rd round picks is by no means a dud hand at all

Especially given that before picks 45 & 46 there are already 5 picks committed to either F/S or Academy selections.

Agree. This is where list managers and recruiters should be earning their money. Any of us could have picked winners from early picks in the last three drafts.

Dal will earn his keep this year and he should be up to it.

Tutt needs to make the call if he wants to stay. The Dogs then need to make the call if they want him. I suspect he will be the first player Carlton call as the pre season draft.

The impression I got was it wasn't Tutt's call to make. He sought a trade to another club prior to be delisted by us.

It's probably the reason why Carlton didn't want to fold him into the deal with Jones for pick 28. They knew we weren't interested in keeping him anyway
