They must be close to their football department salary cap now. It's a good appointment for Neeld.

How many Coaches, ex senior coaches now. If they keep Thomo, then they have besides Hird, Harvey and Neeld. That is 4 senior coaches - that is really beefing it up.

Do you think Thomo will stay?

Don't forget Neil Craig who is very experienced plus assistants in Nathan Bassett and Matt Egan.

I'm not sure what to make of Thompson but these appointments must make it harder for him to stay at Essendon.

Craig is the General Manager of Football Performance.

Hird has a wealth of experience around him. Hopefully they will all make sure the club never gets off track again with looking after the welfare of the players.

Just goes to show we need a stronger team.

Is that your way of saying you think he's lucky to have a job?

It's probably an acknowledgement of how strong the Essendon Football department is. I don't mind Neeld at all and think he is another good addition for them.

There is supposed to be a cap on football spending but if Thompson comes on board I can't see how they could be under it.

No way they're under it, Simon Goodwin leaves and they add 2 very experienced, former senior coaches. Seems the opposite of what most heavily resourced clubs have been doing. Especially considering the money Hird is on.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Can't see them doing a dodgy as they seem so honest.

It probably points to the fact that publicly Hird will praise Thompson but has no intention of ever working with him again, and has already recruited over him

Harvey, Neeld, Craig etc -- not a bad safety net if Hird does end up leaving (or being forced out) if the players are suspended.
