Different or unusual hobbies you have

So what are some things Woofers spend their time on that's maybe a bit different from TV/Movies?

For me a couple years ago after watching some streams and listening to some podcasts I began playing D&D online. We play online once a week for 4 hours or more usually and finished an adventure (first one I've been part of that actually finished) last week which took about 2 and a half years.

I also run my own game with a different group.

Have those online social hobbies have been great during the whole lockdown. While there are still numbers and fighting the focus now days is often on the roleplaying aspect. The hobby itself has gotten much more popular in the last 5-10 years too.

So that's my nerdy ass hobby. Anything anyone else does?

My main hobby is collecting first press or limited edition vinyl records.

I started about 20 years ago buying records of bands I loved but never had any way of playing them and the "vinyl revival" was no where near kicking off so they were scarce and hard to get, as CDs were all the rage.

Then about ten years ago my better half did a whole heap of research and for my 30th we went a bought a turntable, pre amp and speakers.

Because my passion is first press / limited edition I normally end up buying two copies of bands I love "one to rock, one to stock"... Which means I play one and keep the other one in mint condition and sealed never to be played.
More of an In Bruges guy?

I taught myself to knit while I was giving up smoking a couple of years ago. That time of night when the pang usually my mum and I would sit down and knit.

Yes exactly. 5th edition to be precise. It's been with the introduction of 5th edition that a lot of new people have taken up the game. Often entertainers will do podcasts or streams of their games which also heightens the popularity as it showcases the positive side of the game. The major example being a show called Critical Roll with a number of prolific voice actors making up the cast.

Not different, and not exactly a hobby - I love cooking.

My wife doesn't go near the kitchen, so I do all the cooking at home from breakfast to dinner. I love watching cooking shows, especially if it includes travel. I also read all the recipes in the papers and will look up recipes online. I tend to cook something different every night, whether it may be Korean, Italian, or whatever we feel like it, and I rarely repeat the same thing from week to week.

                          Anyone else like to cook?

My kids weren't fans of my 'indoor cooking', but now when they see me fire up the kettle they become very excited and hungry!
I've bought a Weber Kettle recently to go with my Weber Family Q, and I am really starting to get into all the nuances of cooking with charcoal, as well as low and slow cooking.

                              My hobby is WW1.
I really enjoy reading about it, from a range of direct angles (1st hand accounts, battle analysis etc)as well as more tangential aspects ( global geopolitical and economic fallouts, etc Russian revolution, Implications on colonialism, middle east etc.

One of my favourite experiences was hiring a guide who lives around the Somme area, to take me and my wife on a bespoke tour, including following the regimental diary of my Great grandfather's English unit aling the 3rd Ypre battlefield up to the location where he was presumed to have been killed.
I loved every moment of traipsing through the Somme Mud around Thiepval, Longuaval, Beaumont Hamel,as well as locations like Villers Brettoneaux, Pozierre, Messine, Polygon Wood, Fromelles, andTyne Cot Cemetary Memorial (where my Great grandfather's name is listed.
