    Re: Upcoming Movies

I just came back from seeing Inception. I went with an open mind but was really impressed with it.

It takes you a short while before you start to understand the film and the concepts. Some of it is technical and hard to get your head around(eg dreams within layers) but it is a thinking movie with action. I really enjoyed because you had to use your brain all the time to understand different concepts and what was happening. But I worked it out, so anyone can.

Characters were really impressive. Leonardo was really good. And there are different twists and turns in the movie along the way.

The thing that impressed me the most was just the creativity of it. We are so used to Hollywood rolling out Spiderman 26, or reviving old movies but this was something really new and a whole new concept.

I gave it 4.6 stars and gave it the throrough recommend

Yep - This has scared the absolute crap out of my 3yo - hasn't slept since seeing it. Even better that all of the scarey stuff happens at a day care centre (where he has to go each day)...awesome.

What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

I hope your 3 year old has recovered.

He wasn't a very nice bear was he?

Big Baby scared the crap out of me!!

I've heard a lot of people say they don't get it. I don't get that. It was an involved plot, but not really all that hard to follow.

Oh, by the way, the sister did it .
I agree that it is not hard to 'get', but I would think that there are plenty of people who would have plenty of questions when they come out of the movie.

I thought it was amazing. The complexity of the script, the numerous different 'layers' continually overlapping and tying in with each other was awesome...hopefully now that this is done, Christopher Nolan is putting all his time and effort into the next Batman film. BRING ON THE PENGUIN!

Saw Scott Pilgrim vs the World this week and loved it.

Probably the most bizarre film I've ever seen in it's pace, storyline, action scenes, dialogue, audio and just random stuff like a 1 minute patch where it references Seinfeld.

Lot's of video game references and really is rather nerdy, but good fun if you go in not expecting too much of a plot and with an open mind to random comic book type action scenes involving stunt doubles.

I watched it Christmas Eve and loved it too. One of the coolest and most original movies that i have seen in a while. And it is also very funny(And very computer game/graphic novel geeky, which is awesome).

Tron: Legacy was real purdy. Story so so, but honestly, who cares.

                Olivia Wilde is breathtaking.

'The Fighter' is out on Jan 27th. Is anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am?

Yep. I really only have the inclination to see event movies at the cinema (Inception, Avatar, Dark Knight etc) but I'll be seeing this in all its glory. Bale has gone full method.

I recommend people going to see Black Swan, I think it opens 2nd week of Jan. Natalie Portman stars, it's very ballet-centric but it's a thriller so don't avoid it by just seeing the trailer, it is intense and brilliant.

Okay, I'll lower the tone and fess up - I can't wait to see Yogi Bear with my nieces kids! However, I will probably be disappointed that it won't be quite like the cartoon I watched avidly all those years ago!

Based on the trailer, that movie looks like the worst thing ever made. It played when we saw Tron and it didn't elicit a single laugh which is a worry considering they pack trailers with the funniest bits. It was literally silent.

Take them to see Tangled, comes out Jan 6th. That should (hopefully) actually be a decent kids movie.

Again, thanks for the heads up - will have to look this one up as I have been focussed on the "smarter than your average bear" movie!
