I saw the Boosh twice at the Comedy Festival and they were freaking hilarious live.
I don't watch as much stand-up as I used to but enjoy Stewart Lee and Daniel Kitson. Really enjoy Kitson's "serious" shows too.

Oh yeah, Wil Anderson sucks (in my opinion which is just that, an opinion, not fact or anything)

I recently read Denise Scott's "All That Happened At Number 26" and I laughed till I cried. Don't know if that counts.

Love Ross Noble, twisted genius. Wil Anderson annoys me, but I have to tolerate him because of his Bulldogness.

        Daniel Kitson is very good.

        Gervais's live shows are quality.

I've seen Ross Noble a few times. First time was good, the second was just an incoherent rambling mess without the payoff at the end.

Does Tripod count? I was a pretty big fan of these guys when I was 15.

My theory is that it's Australian female comedians that are tragically unfunny for some reason. Most of the O/S females I've seen are very funny.

Back in the '80s I used to go to the the midnight sessions at Le Joke in Fitzroy almost every week. I saw some very funny comedians but the funniest one was a bloke called Rick Carter. He'd tell stories about hs drug taking (The cops burst in and yelled "DONT MOVE". I just looked at them and said "mate, have you smoked any of this stuff? I cant even find my dick!") The great irony is that now he makes his living by playing cops in TV dramas.

In the 80's loved the Young Ones, so when Rick Mayall came out went and saw him. He was very very funny. Before he came on, there was a bloke called Ben Elton who did about an hour, not bad

I like Denise Scott when she's on Spicks & Specks - she's very funny. I'll have to read her book then.

Totally agree with your Ross Noble & Wil Anderson comments too.

Over the years I have seen The Two Ronnies, Ronnie Corbett..solo..,Dick Emery, Dave Allan & Little Britain live. My favourite was a tie between Dave Allan & the Little Britain guys. Non stop laughing with them both from start to finish.

Looking forward to seeing Ricky Gervais when he tours. I also would like to see Barry Humphries show too.

Yeah love that clip, comedians that can shoot down hecklers are very entertaining, Rodney Rude and Kevin Bloody Wilson are both good at it too

I saw Lehmo a couple of years ago at the Comedy Festival, and to my surprise, he was FREAKIN' HILARIOUS!

The show was about how he made a transition from being an insolvency accountant with Ferrier Hodgson to a stand up comedian, and the jokes he made about the stuff that my mates and I (all accountants) deal with everyday had us just about on the floor with laughter.

I don't know if you would have found it so funny if you were a nurse or something, but we sure did (and the fact that Lehmo kept picking on one of our mates as well added to it too).

Not sure who I'll see at the Comedy Festival this year, I usually try to see three or four shows.
Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!

Going to see Josh Thomas in April, looking forward to it. I love Your Gen, and although I think that's mostly because of Shaun Micallef, I enjoy Josh Thomas' work.

Saw Wil Anderson a year or two ago and I quite enjoyed it...really liked the Glass House, and I find Gruen Transfer really interesting.

Jason Byrne was good but still not much 'stand-up'. More just activities that he'd make funny.

Demetri Martin is brilliant, haven't seen much of him but what I have seen is absolutely hilarious.

Danny Bhoy and Stephen K Amos were both good when I saw them a few years back, Arj Barker is good and bad.

I love Hughesy on Before the Game, but can go without his stand-up/radio show.

Agree. He is ok in very small doses like before the game.

Forgot to mention Dane Cook, hes hilarious imo.

Have seen quite a few at the comedy festival over the last few years - but Ross Noble was by far the funniest. I was in stitches for 2 and a half hours.
