Saw Barry Morgans World of Organs on Saturday night - very funny!! Bought a t-shirt which the lovely Barry signed & also got a photo with him after the show.

Saw Charles Barrington at the Tuxedo Cat (a very unimpressive venue) on Monday and thought he was very funny. Didn't really have any flat spots throughout the hour and the only downside was that as the crowd was so small it was awkward to laugh properly.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

I saw Tom Gleeson on Saturday and laughed throughout. Filling up on beers before hand probably made him seem extra funny.

I saw Josh Thomas and was disappointed. I expected there to be a fair bit of smut, but in the end that's pretty much all the show was. No clever humour, and not really the Josh Thomas that I enjoy watching on TBYG. It was a bit of a letdown.

Would have liked to have seen Denise Scott as well (liking her acting on Winners and Losers) but her shows were cancelled the night I was going in.

Saw Arj Barker last night, 5 rows from the front too.

Great stuff from old Arjy Barjy. Recommended.

Saw David O'Doherty Saturday night. Very funny.

Mark Watson Tuesday night. Second time I've seen him, was also very funny.

One thing I've noticed with comedians, that I used to think was cool but now a bit kitsch, is their tendency to always include "local humour" (jokes about Vodafail, Frankston etc).

I think they're both funny enough without having to go for the low hanging fruit. Just my take.

Anyway, I'd still recommend them both.

Went and saw Eddie Ifft and The Dan Band on Saturday night.

Eddie wasn't too bad, not for the easily offended. He said that Arj Barker had stolen his hotel room key and kept on sneaking into his room whilst he was asleep and turning things on.

The Dan Band, for those unwaware, are the wedding band from Old School (Total Ecplise of the Heart) and the Hangover (Candyshop). You would probably only ever go see them once as it's really only 1 joke, but it's still pretty amusing.

He's only toured twice here, in 25 years or so, but I was lucky enough to get tickets a while back for Steven Wright.

I have never, ever, ever, laughed so hard. Not even close to anything else. If you like the off beat-dead pan thing, he's the master. I can't wait if he ever comes back.

                            Never seen this thread before.

I'm a massive fan of Comedy, and you guys are lucky in Melbourne with a range of home grown funny guys regularly performimg.

Keep an eye out for Nick Cody, he's brilliant and destined for far bigger honours. Celia Paquola is very funny, + Adam Rozenbachs (Captain Coles!) + Karl Chandler, all worth checking out. (And our man Wil Anderson of course!)
