        Re: Game of Thrones

Just caught up the first two seasons. Very good coincidental timing that the 3rd season starts so soon. Normally not a fantasy fan for tv/movies (loved dragon age origins though) and didn't love Lord of the Rings when I saw it but this has been very good. That kid that plays Joffrey has the most punchable chin in existence (he also played a child in Batman Begins) and like most people I find myself rooting for Tyrian, Daenerys and the Starks (rip Neddy). Endgame I'd want Daenerys raking the Iron throne, granting independence to the North and Tyrian getting whatever makes him happy. So the opposite will probably happen.

Every. Bloody. Show/movie he is in. And that's a lot of shows.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

                  Great start to the season.

Can see a lot more fantasy themes are coming into it.

The detail they have included from the book is intense and nothing short of brilliant. Really looking forward to this season, so many scenes I can't wait for!

                    Agree Alexx. Cant wait.

That said, there are some obvious changes between the book and TV show and more and more the show is drifting away from the book. This had to be done due to the amount of characters and complex storylines that need to be told, and does not detract from the show but makes it more of its own beast.

With that said, I believe the books to be even better and recommend them to all!

You just need to be patient then. He's too important to write out.

Given the Barristan Selmy reveal, IIRC, the odds of seeing Belwas now are slim.

It was a good first ep though. Very solid coverage of bases. I was particularly happy with the casting of Mance and Tormund. Tormund looks awesome.

Yeah Oberyn will definitely feature and agree Belwas is looking unlikely.

Who was the other widling in the tent? was it Sixskins?

Always intrigued to see who they include and who they dont. Apparently the reed children feature this season after being left out last season, and who knows whats going to happen with the Bastard of Bolton after being omitted from season 2 (albeit he was mentioned). The whole story of him and Winterfell was great in the books imo.

They covered a lot in one ep. As soon as they revealed Barristan Selmy straight up, you realise that they'll skip through a decent chunk of that arc with all those extra characters, Belwas, the different warlords etc.

Is this thread meant to be for just the show or the show and the books. Cause while I don't follow what exactly you guys are writing it seems spoilery.

Maybe there should be a GOT experts thread for those who want to discuss the book. (It's too bad this forum has no spoiler tags)
