I wouldn't have it as the best ever. It's certainly good but there've been better shows

And most of them are wankers. And if it takes one to know one then I know a few.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Episode 2 was sublime. Needed that to change my mood after the footy!

Think it's my 3rd favourite of all 69 episodes released so far.

        I'm curious, what are 1 and 2?

I'm gonna say Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards.

That fight scene at Hardhome is an absolute pulse pumper.

I actually watched the Battle of the Bastards again last night. What an awesome episode. The storytelling was that grand that they made us feel so utterly repulsed by Ramsay Bolton that we all actually enjoyed seeing him die in the most barbaric way.

Ramsay Bolton: "My hounds will never harm me."
Sansa Stark: "You haven't fed them in seven days, you said it yourself."
                Ramsay Bolton: "They're loyal beasts."
Sansa Stark: "They were. Now they're starving."
Ramsay Bolton: "(An alpha hound stares hungrily at him) Sit down! Down! Down! Down! Down!"

I watched Hardhome again this morning. Yep, right up there with the best episodes for sure. Lots happening across many different characters in different settings, but the battle of Hardhome was compelling. We see the gruesome power of the Army of the Dead for the first time and the eerie final scene where the Knight’s King raises the dead and their eyes turn blue.

                        Re: Game of Thrones

So what theories do you all have about how this will play out?

                        *Spoilers from Episode 2 ahead*

The final shot showed a whole bunch of the Night King’s lieutenants, but not the Night King. He could have been flying overhead, but why not show him?

I subscribe to the theory that he is going to bypass Winterfell and head to King’s Landing with the bulk of his army. We were continually told of the million people there and I think he is going to raze an even bigger army. Also, one of Daenarys’ visions from the House of the Undying (or whatever is was called) had her in a throne room (that looked a lot like King’s landing) that had been destroyed.

There has been a lot of talk about/scenes taking place in the crypts over the last two episodes (and they even get a fair bit of attention in the new title sequence) and my thinking is he is going to recruit some dead dragons and everyone’s buried family trees for the biggest Thriller film clip remake.

                        So I predict:
                        1) The living win the battle for Winterfell
                        2) Meanwhile the Night King takes King’s Landing
                        3) Every last living soldier all converge on KL for a final showdown
                        4) Tyrion sneaks below the castle through his hooker tunnels and sets off all the wildfire*

*why has no one thought to use wildfire?

                          Re: Game of Thrones

With four episodes to go, pretty sure the whole four won't be battles with the walking dead.

                          * Will a fight with Cersie be the final battle for the iron throne? Will Jamie kill his sister?

                          * Night King will be enticed to find and kill Brandon, only to be confronted by Jon for a final fight.

                          * The dragons will fight each other

                          * Will Dany find out she is not actually Jon's Auntie so they can marry ( just a theory on who her real father maybe), although Taergerians do marry each other.

No. Her lineage is categorically undeniable.

Conspiracy Theory number 6437 ... and possible spoiler

Kit Harrington was on the Graham Naughton show with members of the Marvel “End Game” movie; he was asked have you got any souvenirs or taken anything from the set of Game of Thrones. His response was ‘I have a life-size statue of myself’.

Given that the only place we see statues is the crypt, does Jon Snow die in this battle against the dead?

Was he already made into a statue/prop when he died at the wall?
