I see this has become a big thing but seriously why does anyone care?
It just completely sucked you out of the game of thrones 'reality'. You can feel so entrenched in the story and the GoT world but when you see a mainstream person it just pulls you out of it. And it was just totally unnecessary. Why do it?

To an extent they are all mainstream people now.
Maybe different for me because when watching I didnt even know who it was.

They are, but they are mainstream due to the popularity of GoT. So it fits the bill. We know them for GoT.
If you didn't know who it was then yeah it would be fine. I wasn't fussed with his acting abilities or anything that he did. It was just simply recognising him that sort of ruined things. But meh its not that big a deal. Just wouldn't want them doing such a thing again
My beef about Ed Sheeran's appearance is the fact that the show does not need famous singers to cameo. Having a famous person cameo is for shows that have 'jumped the shark'. GOT has not jumped the shark yet ... his cameo had no purpose. If it was because of his exceptional acting and singing ability, then hide the fact that it is Ed Sheeran. Make-up or better costuming ... the dude even had his own (fashionable) hair style. It was too obvious that it was him
The Ringer dot com has a discussion show streaming on Twitter after the episodes which I enjoy. It's the team that did After the Thrones last season. Good, nerdy discussion.
Stormborn would have to be the fastest moving episode in the history of GoT. Every element of the story had some progression or involvement, and it was all significant.
If this is the standard we are to expect this season, it's going to live up to my expectations.

My beef was that he didn't get stabbed to death by needle.
For a moment there I thought it was going to happen but then it didn't.
What bothered me was that all the Lannister soldiers in that scene were just too overly nice. Like they got recruited straight out of bible college or something.
This season so far is up there with GOT best, can't wait to see the remaining few episodes.
The end of episode 2 had me banging my head against the wall though. I totally understand it what they are trying to do but theon is so frustrating. I think he's paid his dues and needs a win somewhere surely.
