England are missing a bit of experience aren't they. Would be ideal for them to have a player out there with over 8,000 test runs, 23 centuries (15 on home soil) and a plus-50 average in England. Shame there is nobody like that out there for them....
Funny how his tweets only ramped up after the 400 run loss and not the 169 run win

Ha ha yes I imagine him lying half pissed on the beach somewhere looking at the scorecard and feeling a tad nostalgic. I just cannot see how he and Strauss can be in the same country at the moment.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.
Reminds me of a Late Show sketch back in the early 90's. Tommy G on the news desk 'reported' several changes to their Ashes squad with Gower, Gooch and Atherton all dropped because they were 'English'. Tuffers was dropped for being a 'useless bastard'

It's a good thing they have a couple of countries then.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
Looks like it will be Nevill, good move, he looked crisp and ready
Pleased to hear that. We should've moved on quite some time back, better late than never. Neville's not a young man himself and we should give him every opportunity to get the most out of his career.

Agree it is the right way to go. I was worried that the selectors would put Haddin back in, which I think would be a mistake and a backwards step.
Having said that, I won't forget Haddin's last Ashes series too soon, where he (and Mitch Johnson) had a huge say in us winning.
In an era where we've been spoilt by Healy's exceptional keeping, and Gilchrist's exceptional batting - Haddin is judged harshly in my opinion.

His keeping wasn't great, but it wasn't much behind Gilchrist's. When he first came in he was a bye machine but over time reduced that considerably. I think what got up a lot of people's noses (mine certainly) was the way he was constantly praised for the leadership and experience he brings to the side, yet he was one of the last players you could expect to dig deep in tough times.

Certainly wasn't the type to dig in typically (excluding the 2009 & 2013 Ashes series' I'd say) so I can definitely agree with that comment, and shared your frustration with some of his ordinary dismissals over the years.
Difficult though to speculate on his leadership outside of the batting glitches, without being in the inner circle - as it would appear he is well liked and respected within the Australia team.
