Just saw the wickets in quick sequence, and it reminded me of the clips they show on Ch.9 having a laugh about ridiculous displays throughout history.

It looked like about seven or so tail enders were dismissed.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

The boys' club that has captured Australian cricket has to smashed. If they even think of selecting Haddin again I will personally fly to england and start taking selectors out at will. I've had enough of this.

This is by far the worst batting side we have sent abroad........Give Rogers a pass - 1 fail in 4 tests is acceptable, the rest (Smith included) need to have a good look at themselves. Clarke....wtf were you thinking

Apparently Australia scored 15 runs in front of square. Most of the rest were through the slips or deflections.

That's one of the worst stats I've ever seen.

Well, you know when the commentary team are talking about the EPL starting in a few days time, Australian cricket is up you-know-what creek!

Credit to England needs to be acknowledged but I mentioned in the previous test thread that we have a lot of problems.
We have a lot of work to do to identify some better batsman.

This isn't really a new thing a couple of years after the last tour though is it? There's a good reason aside from "The Boys Club" that the likes of Haddin and Watson got a gig this time around.

I think the problems are more deep seated than selection.

Outside of this squad the only other batsmen scoring enough runs in first-class cricket to warrant consideration were old-timers like D.Hussey and Klinger.

The way we are developing our youngsters is not equipping them for Test cricket. They have good days, but they're not capable of compiling big scores consistently.

Spot on but I think it's the coach, captain and a couple of the boys that need to lift or be replaced.
When we are batting we don't like swinging or spin bowling and we won't tighten up at critical times. We have been caught up with trying to dominate attacks and when the pitches don't suit us we too often capitulate.

We need players that put a lot more value on their wickets and if we don't have an genuine allrounder then don't go in a batsman short in as much as we have.

Did anyone else notice the crowd just then?

With England 0/30 chasing 60, a few bright sparks pull out some BonJovi: "Whoah-oh we're half way there...."

Re: England v Australia, Fourth Ashes Test, Nottingham

Due to the crowded calendar and the multiple formats we're developing cricketers that can perform in tests at home but not elsewhere consistently.

Just wait for England or anyone else to come over to Australia and try to deal with the bounce of the wickets and the extremely subtle deviation. They'll display the same level of technical shortcomings we've shown on this tour, but for different reasons.

Alright I will go out on a limb. I wouldn't even wait until the match is over before I sent the first three players home. I would hand them their passports and their flight tickets and tell them their flights are booked for tonight. I'd rather bat three short than have them embarrass us again in the second dig. Let's face it they aren't going to make more than 15-20 runs between them and we aren't going to lose this match by 15-20 runs. Maybe an innings and 20 runs.

The time to take control of the team back from the cartel that has held it hostage over the last few years.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
