It was really boring then.

Keith Miller and Norman May commentating the ABC 2 broadcast with a static camera at one end so that the batsman had his back to you and you had to guess what shot he played every second over.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

That declaration post was from yesterday TD. We're ten runs ahead now, I'd expect to get them in with half an hour to go this evening providing we can put some runs on the board.
      TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

The radar looks to clear up a bit after an hour or so. It's belting down in Caulfield, glad I brought me washing in.

Still raining quite heavily. Didn't really watch the last test match that much but this one looks destined for a draw as its the 4th day and we are still in the 1st innings. Well done to Steve Smith on his 100.

Quite dissapointing. Still the rain hasn't stopped. It looks unlikely will get anymore play today.

Would we declare over night? Or just keep batting on. May as well bat on for what pop it's worth.

Bat for as long as possible, give our quicks as little work to do and go into Sydney relatively well rested up. This game is over and the only winning result favours them if we declare, they score well and we have our one of our trademark all out for 80 in response.

                            Bring on the footy, now.

Surely the only possible way to win is to hope the pitch disintegrates, knock up a quick 160 odd, declare and try to run through them cheaply - with the fallback position being only two sessions of bowling - max.

This whole protection of bowlers has to stop or be revised at least. They bowled not even full days on 1, 2 and 3. From what I have seen fast bowlers are far more injury prone now than I remember them being in the 1970s and 80s. The policy of protecting fast bowlers and not letting them work properly has done more damage than good by breeding a generation of fast bowlers who never had the chance to discover either their limitations or what their bodies were truly capable of.

I usually wince when I hear a "things were different when I were a lad" bullshit stories ex sportsmen trot out. But I think the ex-fast bowlers have it right with their scepticism of the protection of fast bowlers.
