Yep we've been all over them like a cheap suit. It's been a really good disciplined performance. We've applied pressure and then moved in and applied some more, we haven't let up and the Englsh batsmen are having trouble coping. Lyon is toying with them.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

And a catch like that is one way of keeping the pressure up. Nathan Lyon is a star.

My oh my. He took a similiar one on debut but that's a ripper.

        Catch available here:

Am I the only one astounded that we're batting?

I would have followed on in the night session.

I’m ok with it. Player management on our behalf whilst making the English bowlers bowl again. I’d hope we bat for this session and the next only.

I'd have put them to the sword and demoralised them.

                We need Handscomb solid here.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and all that, but I think Smith has made a blue.

Lyon did the job well as the night watchman.

I can't believe we didn't enforce the follow on given the conditions. Great stuff to watch though, great battle between bowlers and batsman.

Yeah we didn't need to bat the night session. Could have had them 4 down and finished them tomorrow

I'm suprised we batted. Test cricket is all about applying pressure and we let them off the hook by batting through the worst conditions.

We are still well on top though.

Bit surprised we went back in, but I’m sure the whole “ bowling loads “came into it .
                          Still massively ahead

I get why he did it. We are effectively 4/268 at stumps. By batting now we avoid batting 4th, with the possibility of having to chase a game under lights. I would prefer to be asking England to get 300 or bat 4 sessions with 2 night sessions to negotiate than having us chase 100 or so at night.

Odd decision with the pitch showing no signs of wear and Lyon doing a lot of work in the first innings.

We're well ahead but England have given themselves a sniff.

Need to make some runs in the first two sessions today and then put England in tonight to chase a good lead.
