And Cumins gets a nasty rearer through Makron's defence and he fends it to Bancroft. 3/55 at tea.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Great egg from Starc to get their skipper. Four down.

Some good bowling by the Australians, Lyon got those two wickets in one over and then it was Starc cleaning up the tailenders.
AB de Villiers just couldn't find a partner.

Lyon was very impressive. With only 2 days completed we can hopefully take our time and build on our advantage.

Would love too see us bat for four sessions again. Fantastic position to be in.

It's up to the top order now to press home the advantage. At least one or two good partnerships are vital

Someone has to put their head down and get a big hundred. Actually a little hundred would do just as well.

I read that the highest team score at Durban in the first innings is 280, does anyone know the biggest 4th innings score?

Starc was getting the ball to swing Irish last night and the SA tail didn't cope at all well with it.

Decent start by both openers so far. 0 for 50.

We need something from the tail enders again because I think we need another 100 runs from here.
                          SA just burned a review.

I think we have enough on this pitch.
Would be nice to get the lead beyond 400 but Lyon should be difficult as well as our pace bowlers.

402 is plenty. Can’t see Cummins and Hazlewood adding much in the morning session. Hopefully they can bat for 5 or so overs to frustrate the Saffers.

We'll win this one comfortably because the Saffers have an awful batting line-up, which our world class bowlers ruthlessly exposed. Faf is a dirty scrapper with barely any shots and he's their 2nd best with the willow. Having said that, our batting line-up is only slightly better judging from our stuttering display yesterday - we just have the edge with the bowlers when it comes to overall weapons and variety.

On a side note, does anyone else have significant question marks on DRS and ball-tracking? Some of the calculations in this test have defied belief. I really dislike that the system gives the umpires the benefit of the doubt, and as a result they are giving previously stonewall LBW's not out because "umpire's call" gives them so much leeway. The Steve Smith one last night against Maharaj just had to be given out on the field.
