Re: First test - Australia v India, Adelaide
I reckon they gave Sharma a few free overs with bowling he would have been comfortable with. I think you get Lyon off immediately after Rahane is out, give Starc and Cummins 3 overs each and if you don't get him, then go with Lyon leading in to lunch.
The bowling has been very good but the batting has been equally bad. India have really pissed away a great toss to win.Comment

You'd think at 39 degrees you'd purposely try to bat two days to knock the stuffing out of the Aussies for the rest of the test (and impact on their recovery for the series). They're instead chasing deliveries no test batsmen within their first 50 balls should be contemplating unless your surname is Gilchrist.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment

Re: First test - Australia v India, Adelaide
Yet you won't hear a peep. Similarly you won't hear a squeak about Kohli's behaviour that would have seen screeching from the Australian media for a life ban and a prison sentence were he an Australian player. Instead he's a "combative, strong, and proud competitor who's great for the game".
I wonder in between showering Kohli with praise purely for playing against Australia, because the enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that, whether the Australian media will mention in passing he's made a total of 98 runs from his last 6 innings against Australia over the past 2 test series. We all know the answer is of course not.Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: First test - Australia v India, Adelaide
This is an Adelaide road and it is 40 degrees - to likely be dismissed for under 200 in such circumstances is akin to being bowled out for 50 on an English green top. This has been a disgusting test batting performance (Pujara aside) from a team who specialises in ineptitude away from home. You'd think at 39 degrees you'd purposely try to bat two days to knock the stuffing out of the Aussies for the rest of the test (and impact on their recovery for the series). Re: First test - Australia v India, Adelaide
Pujara is a star at the long form of the game. So much more dependable and reliable than all of his more high profile teammates.
Only weakness is he is a camel running between wickets,
EDIT - Pujara just ran himself out. Brilliant work by Cummins"Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Reckon his state of mind was well on the job with that catch!Khawaja's state of mind would have to be a concern wouldn't it? He'd have to be able to really section off the different sections of his life effectively in order to fully concentrate on the job he has at hand. I've never had a brother who was quite able to draw attention like he has but I'm betting it won't be easy for him. The Indians will be right in his face about it.Comment

Re: First test - Australia v India, Adelaide
Great start but the batsman need to come to the party. We knew this attack had the potential to run through lineups - the batting has an excellent platform to build on now.
Gameplan is pretty simple - bat long and attack the spinner. Bumrah and Shami are high energy and could tire pretty quickly - you don't want Ashwin setting up shop at one end and allowing Kohli to rate his quicks.
This shapes as a series-defining innings for me. I think we need 350 to call it par considering the match situation and pitch.Comment

I reckon India are still conservatively 150 runs short of par. The pitch was not doing a hell of a lot and they 100% contributed to their own downfall for the first 5 wickets.Great start but the batsman need to come to the party. That doesn’t mean Australia will make 400+ but they have a fantastic opportunity to bat once and win this test."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

That was an amazing bit of fielding.
Agree that Pujara is a star and extremely underrated.Comment

Re: First test - Australia v India, Adelaide
Stats wise he's our best bowler, albeit from a limited sample size compared to Hazelwood, Starc and Lyon.
Can field well and is a useful lower order batsmen too.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment
