Based on Shield scores, not the greatest analysis, I think this is just 50 runs shy of a good first inning score.
This could be a very close game

I'm a big Cummins fan. He's got all the goods and has been well worth the wait for him to get his body right. Cummins, Starc and Pattinson have the potential to be one of the greatest new ball attacks of all time. That they are competent batsmen and pretty spectacular in the field is a huge bonus. It's a huge shame that they haven't been terrorising batsmen (and bowlers) all over the world for most of the past decade because of injury.

Sometimes being out there with only having the one thing to concentrate on is the best remedy. I know myself that the only place I have only ever feel really comfortable and never seem to have a problem is on the cricket pitch. On the ground there are challenges that I enjoy working through. The rest of my life (the bits where I'm not playing cricket) is pretty much an ongoing disaster though.

Gameplan is pretty simple - bat long and attack the spinner. Bumrah and Shami are high energy and could tire pretty quickly - you don't want Ashwin setting up shop at one end and allowing Kohli to rate his quicks.

This shapes as a series-defining innings for me. I think we need 350 to call it par considering the match situation and pitch.
Like Jack Ryder said in 1928 on the morning of the third day of the shield match when somebody asked him if he was going to enforce the follow on against NSW (they were 9 for) "we've gotta get 'em out first" they did get them out but not before Kippax and Hooker had put on 307 for the tenth wicket!
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Kohli running into the middle screaming *!*!*!*! off at Finch after he was dismissed. I'm assuming this will be front page news tomorrow?

Such an honest competitor who's great for the game.

Are you suggesting double standards by our morally inconsistent media...?

And yes, it's great to see emotion. That's what cricket is about, that's what the Aussie fans love.

Harris is such an interesting cricketer.

When you watched him open for WA with Bancroft, you would've sworn that he was the highly-rated youngster on the cusp of international selection rather than it being the other way around. Really attractive batsman with a good range of shots...he just has a habit of getting out when he shouldn't.

S Marsh has been dismissed 5 times in Test cricket by Ashwin for an aggregate total of 8 runs.

He might make a few scores here and there but it's hard to see Handscombe having a successful career with that technique. He got served up the juiciest half-volley you'll see in Test cricket a couple of over ago and it went straight through him. He just isn't able to score off the front foot from even the most friendly bowling.

It's just a positive to watch someone bat right now who values their wicket. Ridiculous shots from Finch and Smarsh today.

And on cue he's out caught behind trying to deflect a ball off the back foot that was nearly a half volley.

Steve Smith smashes that through cover for 4 four.

You have to laugh at Channel 7 showing analysis of where Handscombe is striking the ball in a Test involving Australia vs India, then comparing it to Kohli in a Test involving India vs England. I guess he didn't have enough data points against Australia to form a graph!

He wasn't super impressive against us over in India either was he? At least compared to his usual output.

While it's early days of a rebuild, I can't see that Finch or Marsh are up to the standard. I actually think Finch isn't that good at the shield level.

Head and Handscomb need to be given the series to establish themselves
