Egypt are good and all, but man we didn't help ourselves. First half was diabolical, just invited the pressure. Atkinson, Duke and McGree are arguably our best three players so admittedly big losses but our efforts to replace them were poor.
Not sure why Tilio was played as a playmaker, he hasn't featured there at all for City and it denied him the space and opportunities to get in behind the defence. We had two central mids on the bench (Devlin and Baccus) and one of them should have started instead. THe move to put a CB on as a makeshift striker in the 60th minute was also atrocious and never looked like creating anything. You have Piscopo and Watts on the bench, bring them on. The only times we looked like creating something in general play was when we carried the ball using guys like Arzani (who was good), why were we immediately looking to go for the long ball to the big blokes tactic?
Also not sure about the merits of the long throw when it takes an age to setup and we have a bunch of tchnical guys that would be better served with the ball at their feet around the box. Souttar may bash up all the Asian teams with his size but against bigger sides it's a lot harder.

Arzani was brilliant when he came on.
Egypt's keeper was immense. Without his work we get a point and progress. Really weird formation though.
Cracking run in the kayaking sees Jessica Fox claim gold. Awesome stuff.
The reaction from all concerned made it a magical moment.
Jess herself slapping the water in combined relief and elation, the waterside hugs from her mum and sister, her dad watching proudly from the studio in commentary, Twitter blowing up, it might be the good we most enjoy as a nation over the course of the games.
The only thing that would top it for mine would be for the Boomers to go all the way.
