Slow going but we are in a strong position.
And in a flash Labuschagne is dropped on 95

      Days over 2 for 221

      Labuschagne 95no Smith 18no

It's going to hot tomorrow so need to get through that first hour and their bowlers will tire.

I'll unreservedly apologise for saying the person was a douche canoe, if he followed protocols. That's not how I read it, but if it is the case then it's the system that's at fault.

I'd like to know from Pat himself whether he thinks the additional concessions/ less restrictions are worth missing a test match over.

Probably if he had his time again he'd take a bubble and miss out on a dinner in Adelaide and play a test match......but you know......

Bet Joss Buttler didn't sleep very well last night.

A great catch with Harris and dropped a very easy one.

Labuschagne might make them pay for that.

I would agree if it was Sydney or Melbourne but I can't blame him for going out for dinner in a city that has bugger all Covid cases. They have done their fair share of bubbles and quarantine.

Who would you pick or would you stick with Harris?
It's a shame about Harris because nobody has done more at domestic level. He makes runs, he makes 100s, but can't seem to step up. I guess he won't be the first and won't be the last. If he was to get a 50 or thereabouts in the second innings I would probably give him another shot at what should be an easier wicket to bat on in Melbourne.

I don't know enough about Street and Hunt. Khawaja could be a stop gap until Pucovski/Hunt/Street are ready. As mentioned I'm not sure if Renshaw is an opener any more?

Maybe Marnus should open, he pretty much does now anyway.

When I told my wife he was a cricketer from NSW, she said "That would be right"

                        Harris will play in Melbourne.

Street has a very limited array of shots but is a determined type. He probably doesn't score quick enough
Hunt is very talented and is in very good form plus he's outstanding in the field. He holds his catches and throws down the stumps
Burns is probably still in the mix and Khawaja could be the safe bet.
Renshaw was a very good opener who's has had a couple of lean seasons but is reestablishing himself now.

FWIW, I'd probably prefer Renshaw if Harris doesn't come good by the 3rd test

If this was Pakistan the world would be crying out that the game was fixed. England get Labuschagne but it was a no ball

Green and Harris are both a concern. Are once again relying on a couple of batters to get us through?

We are relying on 3 batters to get us through, England are relying on 1.
