Ahem.
Even so, Root and Stokes should have put on a big partnership today. Root is number two batsmen in the world and was ranked one just recently. However, you can't discount they are playing against the best bowlers in the world.

The rest of the batting is pretty average.

68 runs. They should be deregistered.
There has been discussion on Cricinfo about whether England should be stripped of test status. And that was before their mammoth total of 68 today. Now that would be the ultimate insult - especially if the USA or Canada were promoted in their place.
That spell of fast bowling last night was brilliant - and brought back memories of Dennis Keith Lillee going through the West Indian top order on Boxing Day in 1981, including knocking over the castle of the great Isaac Vivian Alexander Richards with the last ball of the day to leave the Windies in tatters at 4 for 10.
And all that on top of one of the gutsiest centuries I have ever seen from Kim Hughes to drag the Aussies past 200 after the top order was decimated by the West Indian quicks.
