Cummins and Green were getting the ball to reverse and at least asking questions of the batsmen. Starc was just completely non-threatening, no movement at all. Is it enough to occasionally have a brilliant spell like in the first innings last test, but mostly be a non-factor?
Pakistan all out for 268 after losing 8 wickets for 20. Cummins 5 wickets. Spinners only got 1 wicket.
I switched over to watch the last session late and managed to see only 40 balls of the Pakistan innings.
Those 40 balls produced 6 wickets and 12 runs.
Finally some interesting cricket to watch. Just when I thought Starc wasn't going to be able to offer much he produces some great bowling. Cummins the pick of the bowlers, although he went for some awful reviews.
In hindsight perhaps Hazlewood would have been a better choice than Swepson, although perhaps the pitch may turn in the final innings.
After a sensational start to his test cricket career Scottie Boland doesn't seem to rate a mention. Is he in Pakistan?
Yes he is but not sure he's in front of Hazelwood and he can't get a game. Not sure the pitches would suit him either. You need some pace to extract any type of bounce and need to be able to bowl reverse swing (no idea if he can or not). I doubt he would have much experience in the conditions.
