We still seem to have bowling depth but will never know unless we start to ease some of the younger players in. Losing Green has hurt us with our batting and bowling. Marnus and Smith have dropped off and now without Warner at the top of the order we are vulnerable Is Marsh a legitimate test batsman?

I don’t think the next gen of bowlers will be this excellent as this group has been. Virtually impossible to be. I always thought Warner would leave a big hole even if he was sketchy towards the end. Smith has been good as gone for some time. Marnus should’ve been dropped. Marsh has some flashes of brilliance now and again but never been truly consistent. I think Khawaja is on borrowed time and then there’s just Carey and Head who will still swing the bat at 5/50. McSweeney just looks like another to rotate through at an average of 25-30 until the call is made.

We’ve had an amazing run so I’m not pitting the sport, but all good things come to an end and I just don’t see a strong test team on the horizon. Just a matter of how long it takes until we can find the guys to do it at test level. I think we have the sloggers at white ball level since that’s what it seems to be. But the tests I’m not convinced.

Really hard to see us forming another bowling group like this one anytime soon. Legit class.
It's a shame that Neser isn't 5 years younger so that he could come in and almost lead the attack. Abbott and Boland might be okay.
We really have to hope that McSweeney and Green can bat at 4 and 5 for us over the long haul and find a couple of others to bring in. I was listening to some talk back and the batters being mentioned were Renshaw, Webster, Goodwin, Patterson, Clayton, Street and Harris which isn't a lot to get excited about.

Any conversation with Harris is not a good conversation.

India are really working us over at the moment. 400 run lead is substantial but they'll keep pushing on.

3-12 for the evening, McSweeney copped a low one but Cummins and Marnus, shocking shots with only a few overs remaining and with the pitch already a mess with variable bounce, will be surprised if the game lasts past lunch tomorrow.

Why would they bring out Marnus After Cummins went out? Supposed to protect the "Batsmen" so either don't bring out a night watchman or bring out Lyon instead, i mean Marnus got out anyway and he's not exactly the dig in protect your wicket at all costs type who is grossly out of form.

Maybe I was wrong when this team falls from grace. That might just be here already. Kudos to Warner for getting out on top. Smith should’ve joined him.

Problem is who takes his spot, who is putting pressure from underneath for any of the batsmen?

If he retires it’s not his problem.

I've often mentioned how many times he's gone out in the last over of sessions even when he's got himself in.
Clearly he's now not prepared to bat in a manner to preserve his wicket and the coach is okay with this more reckless style.

Not sure what happened to him but early in his career Marnus put a lot of value on his wicket.

A lot of soul searching for us after the opening test.

India in full control. Huge batting display putting them in a commanding position for the win.

                            This will finish tomorrow.

                              That was actually embarrassing.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

We don't possess the ability to fight it out now. It's sort of all or nothing. Previously we used to have a couple of batsman who would put a premium value on their wicket. If we capitulate early tomorrow I wonder how the coach and captain explain it.
