Cant wait for it to begin but these 4 30 am games going to kill me.

I pray we finnish second in our group and england finish top which would make the round of 16 game the biggest event in Australian sport for a long time. They can have the Ashes for the next 20 years but if we beat them in this game it will cut them really deep

Mexico lucky to escape with a draw.

South Africa created the better chances, particularly in the second half. Really should've nailed a second.

        Entertaining first game though.

I thought a draw was a good outcome. Mexico were all over them early and came out really aggressively. South Africa bounced back though and gave Mexico some huge problems. The Mexican keeper is a very lucky man, he was nowhere on a few balls, particularly that shot off the post in the 2nd half.
If these 2 teams are going to put on shows like that though, i hope they both go through.

                  England 1 (Gerrard 4)

                  USA 1 (Dempsey 40)

What a dreadful error by the England goal keeper, Robert Green. Fancy letting a ball like that get through for a goal? Schoolboy error!

Wow, that was shocking. Happy with the result as my wife is American, so I have a bit of a soft spot for them(as well as not liking the Poms).

Haha Front page headline of the Daily Mirror is "THE HAND OF CLOD".

The english tabloids can certainly pay out on their sportsmen more than any other place in the world.

Spain's goal keeper Iker Casillas turns Nostradamus a week ago, claiming:

'England have a serious Achilles heel in the goalkeeping department'

                        Very profound statement!

I'm surprised, usually England keeper's save that sort of thing for the knockout round.
He's just become the downside of that World Cup Nike ad.

I managed to stay up for the first 30 minutes of the Argentina game. Messi has got to be the most fun player to watch in the world. I swear he could have scored 3 times in the 30 minutes I saw.

South Korea and Greece was a bit of a snore. Greece aren't good.

Has anyone been watching the Santo Cilauro show on SBS? I've missed both nights...any good?

                            Terrible error by Green...Kalac-esque.

South Africa ponders vuvuzela ban after complaints

South Africa's World Cup organising chief Danny Jordaan may ban vuvuzelas from inside stadiums after complaints from broadcasters and supporters.

The constant sound of the high-pitched horn-like instrument has so far drowned out much of the atmosphere-generating singing usually associated with games.

                                Please, ban the bloody things!!!
