    Re: Ashes - Second Test

Hodge is done. Been treated shabbily,as has Krezja.
They won't bring in D. Hussey or White, for mine it is time for a complete overhaul.
I'd go with the likes of Smith,Kwalja S.Marsh maybe Cowan,it's time for patience and let's build a side around youngsters. Also Callum Ferguson has to come in

How many times has Clarke gone out just before stumps when he's set? Piss weak from someone who's supposed to be a leader.

Good bowling change by Strauss. KP got the ball to turn a fair bit.

What a joke to be bowled by a non bowler.

                Shouldn't that be dismissed?

KP actually gives it a rip and on a pitch offering assistance, like the Adelaide one, he can be a handful.

                  Did it hit a footmark?

Not sure, I haven't seen a close up of where the ball pitched, but the ball that dismissed Clarke did turn in sharply.

As an 'offie' in my past life I would be pretty happy if I produced such a delivery.

The bounce off the pitch surprised Clarke as well - was a good ball to be fair to Clarke.

Fair comments, but do you really think it's really the right time to start rebuilding the Australia test team IN THE MIDDLE OF A FREAKIN' ASHES SERIES? (not having a go at you, just releasing some frustration at the selectors and our ridiculous non-preparation to the point that we didn't even know who our best team was three days out from the start of the series).

If they really wanted to rebuild they should have been dinkum about it four years ago instead of sticking fat with guys like North and Hussey. Since they haven't, it's too late to start blooding youngsters in the cauldron of a losing Ashes series. At least Hodgey and White and the like have excelled in plenty of pressure situations and are more likely to stand up under the spotlight than a raw kid. All we need for the next three Tests are guys who will perform better than Marcus North in the short term.

Agreed, the rebuild can wait another month - or at least until Boxing Day if we lose today and lose again in Perth. There are world class cricketers not in the current Australian test team for reasons other than to select the best possible team to represent our country. How many other nations deliberately do not pick their best 11 players (apart from the Saffers who have a quota system to deal with)? Crazy logic.
