Whilst our cricket performance have been inconsistent there is still a number of youngsters that we should be excited about
Mitchell Marsh - WA
- An exciting middle order batsman and handy medium pacer.
Nic Maddinson - NSW
- Just turning 19, Maddison has been a strong performer with the bat this summer. Bats left handed and bowls some left arm orthodox.
Josh Hazelwood - NSW
- Strongly built quick bowler who is currently struggling with some injuries
Chris Lynn - QLD
- Having a terrific Shield season and for a 20yo he is already a very composed batsman
Alister McDermott - QLD
- Still only 19, McDermott is primarily used in the limited over versions for the game but is an exciting prospect.
James Faulkner - TAS
- A 20yo left handed bowling all-rounder and right handed batsman, Faulkner has put in some impressive performances this season.
James Pattinson - VIC
- A 20yo right handed quick who is hand with the bat. Rated highly and certainly one to watch
Alex Keath - VIC
- Currently better known as someone who turned his back on an AFL career this 18yo all-rounder is still yet to debut in a Shield game but
When you add the highly talented, but better known, youngsters to the mix like Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Phil Hughes I think Australian cricket can bounce back pretty quickly
Any other younger players worth listing?
