Bird has been in solid form for a couple of seasons and should have been considered earlier.

I can see why some people are confused with it but Quiney didn't grasp his chances and Hazelwood got himself injured.
    So you don't rate Bob?

Not for Test cricket. He's more of a limited over type.

To be honest I don't rate him in the top ten bats for limited overs.

Talk Starc may be rested, ridiculous with an 8 day break. I'm a fan of the Lillee mindset, young bowlers need to bowl.

He bowled poorly in the first innings and I wonder if the talk of resting him is just another way of dropping him?

I can't see how they can play both Starc and Johnson in the same side.

Inverarity has declared Starc almost certain to miss, I still prefer him as an option to Mitchell Johnson, only way to improve him is by bowling the kid. No doubt he'd be dirty missing a boxing day debut because of some sports scientists calculations.

So fast bowlers can only manage two tests in a row now? How fragile are they these days? Seems crazy from a far.

Perhaps Scott Muller didn't get dropped, he's just being rested.
