How good is Younis Khan in comparison to the other great batsman of this millennium? I have him bracketed with Jayawardene and Damien Martyn

Right up there. It's a shame that Pakistan have been such an outcast during his productive years. Was that 27 or 28 tons? That stat is right up at the pointy end for test batsmen.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Pakistan are the most interesting team in world cricket. Their players are paid rubbish, their local Sheffield Shield equivalent is a poor standard, they are forced to play their home matches at a neutral venue, they encounter political in-fighting that other nations don't have to deal with, and they are forced to churn through quality players at a rate of knots for reasons other than form (match-fixing, illegal bowling actions, player retention due to poor pay, etc..). And yet they can match it with the best teams in the world on any given day.

Massive kudos should go to Misbah, who in my opinion is the best test captain in world cricket. His batting might be stodgy and dull but his captaincy is anything but. His captaincy record, in light of the circumstances he has to deal with, is incredible.

I believe it's Maxwell and Starc in for Doolan and O'Keefe. Two offies leaving Smith as the only one to turn the tall away from the right handers.

Smith at 3 I'm assuming. Warner, Rogers, Smith, Clarke, Marsh, Maxwell and Haddin. We would want to get off to a good start.

The attack looks strange on a slow track. Wouldn't it have been better for Maxwell to replace Marsh if Starc is replacing a spin bowler?

              That's apparently what Clarke wants.

Pitch is slow, flat and lifeless. Will get lower as we go on though so we really need a big first innings lead.

And Haddin misreads a decent edge off Lyon's second ball, doesn't even get a glove to it. Have to feel for Lyon sometimes

                      Happens too often for him.

Lyon gets Shahzad, that's a big strike for his confidence, bowling with a far better loop today

We are cooked. Khan doing it easy yet again.
8 bowlers have been tried. Lyon has bowled pretty well.

Not according to the papers this morning. He wanted Doolan to remain at 1st drop.
